Don't bother reading what was actually said where Bronco said he took the blame for the miscommunication.

I'm reading this on my phone at my daughters soccer practice. Can't exactly surf the web looking for Broncos comments. No matter what the context was, if Kinahans tweet is accurate, it's a pretty dumb thing to say. Did they or did they not ever call that QB draw?
"Sure, I fought. I had to fight all my life just to survive. They were all against me. Tried every dirty trick to cut me down, but I beat the bastards and left them in the ditch."

So why say anything about Hill not seeing the signal? Who sent in the play in the first place?Originally posted by Indy Coug View PostDon't bother reading what was actually said where Bronco said he took the blame for the miscommunication.
https://twitter.com/gregwrubell/stat...63275255435264At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

"Mendenhall says the rolling hand signal from coaches on the sideline for "clock is rolling" was interpreted by Hill as "run the play."

The fact that the 3rd to last play of the game results in an injury is definitely unlucky. The fact that a young QB misinterpreted a call isn't that surprising. Its all really shitty for sure. But the larger problem is the fact that there was 19 such plays called to begin with. I hope these tweets from Wrubell indicate that Bronco has already had a come to Jesus talk with Doman about it.:
"Mendenhall said BYU's current high-carry model for QBs is "not sustainable"; says again that 19 carries (Hill's rushes v. USU) is too many."
"Mendenhall says QB carry numbers need to come down, and/or QBs need to be more committed to "risk-aversion" techniques (sliding, etc.)."

What does this even mean? So Bronco is giving Taysom a hand signal from the sidelines to tell him that the clock is rolling?Originally posted by USU Coug View PostPer Greg Wrubell

Doman, not Bronco. But yeah it appears that way. Is this something that coaches signal to players? Seems like a no brainer.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostWhat does this even mean? So Bronco is giving Taysom a hand signal from the sidelines to tell him that the clock is rolling?

Sorry, doman.Originally posted by USU Coug View PostDoman, not Bronco. But yeah it appears that way. Is this something that coaches signal to players? Seems like a no brainer.
so given the context of the situation, why would doman be signaling to Hill the clock was rolling? They wanted to run down the clock, USU only had one timeout remaining. Was doman freaked out that they were going to eat clock and get a delay of game penalty?
If I am understanding bronco correctly, doman was honestly signaling to Hill to say, "the clock that we want to run down is running! Hurry up and get in victory formation" and Hill misinterpreted that to mean, "run the play."
Someone help me out here.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

I don't get it either. Who called the play, and why did it need to change and who cares if the clock is running or not at that point?Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostSorry, doman.

Maybe the signal was to "run clock", meaning don't snap the ball until the play clock is used up.

So the signal for "clock is running" looks a lot like "QB draw?" Stupid if that's the case. Also, if he interpreted the "clock is running" signal as "run the next play", then the next play called was the QB draw.Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View PostI don't get it either. Correct. That is why it makes little or no sense as explained.Originally posted by USU Coug View PostAlso, if he interpreted the "clock is running" signal as "run the next play", then the next play called was the QB draw.
I guess it is possible that Taysom legitimately misunderstood the hand signal and thought he was to run the next play, the next play called by doman was to take a knee in victory formation, but Taysom didn't like what he saw at the line and audibled into a QB draw instead.Fitter. Here Doman explains that the signal was to let the clock wind down. He misinterpreted it and he called a play and went running to the line of scrimmage. Doman tried to get Bronco to call a timeout but he didn't make it to the ref in time.Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View Post
