This story was written 7 months ago. I guess the rest of the media picked up on it only after Sandusky was arrested.

I'm not sure what to make of the pimping allegations, I'm not ready to buy it. But the more plausible issue raised is that Sandusky was damaged goods at the age of 55 and never got another coaching job. Did other schools know about this, or was Sandusky too wedded to the charitable foundation that enabled him to continue preying on young boys?

The "pimping" allegation was not in the 7 year old article. It is just coming out now. It's only an allegation, but it's being brought up by the same guy that connected the dots on Sandusky 7 months ago before the grand jury report came out.

That's true, but I'm not ready to completely believe it because the conspiracy grows larger and becomes less plausible. It's one thing for other programs to hear about Sandusky and decide to stay away from him, but it's another thing for a pimping operation to be in place because that involves more boys, more parents, more communications that can be uncovered and none of it was revealed in the grand jury report.

I'm certainly not saying it couldn't have happened, but right now it's just a rumor.

My guess is that the latest rumors are untrue, or at the least serious exaggerations.

I agree. The Grand Jury report was pretty clear that Sandusky was incredibly careless; molesting kids in public places, dozens of phone calls, etc. The only reason he got this far with it was because of his profile in the community. An underground criminal sex ring that escaped notice from the grand jury investigation would be an operation way beyond his capability.

Horrific. I honestly believe that somehow the school, the donors, etc. were able to hold this case at bay until after JoPa broke the record. The timing of all of this is horrifying.

I wasn't following the news at all last night and missed most of this thread, but apparently as all the PSU students were raging against those who would punish their beloved pedophile protector, they started singing "Rock and Roll part 2", aka the "Hey" song, which was written by... a pedophile.

I'm sure they're all just clueless and don't realize how they're coming across, but taking the streets in defense of a man who allowed at least several boys to be raped, while signing a song written by a pedophile is not a good look for a student body.

What's even more depressing is knowing that under the same circumstances, the same thing would have happened at just about any college campus.

I haven't read this whole thread so apologies if I'm repeating someone else's thought. I've been asking myself this morning: what does one do when one comes upon someone raping a child? Don't you say, " What are you doing? GET AWAY FROM HIM!" Then don't you get the child to safety?
