I sit mid level 50 on the east side. Unless there were 8500 empty seats on the east side then there is no way it was even 80%.
The NEZ and the north corners in the GA sections were as close to 100% full as they are any other game. The west side filled in. By the end of the 1st quarter, there were some red seats but nowhere near even 10% empty seats. I'd be shocked if it was even 5% empty seats. Not everything red was an empty seat, mind you. Plenty of fans were in red.
The SEZ was filled. The SW corner was full.
I can't imagine there are more than 15-17K crimson club seats on the east side. Did it look like there half of those seats were empty to you?
Certainly wasn't the case around us. We thought there would be and some friends could move over and join us, but it never happened. Our two rows all the fans showed up from aisle to aisle and from row 44 down, there were very few empties.
The attendance was 95% at worst by the start of the 2nd quarter. All the seats were sold. The crowd was loud and it was a great atmosphere.
The only issue I saw was that the crowd was late arriving. Especially the Crimson Club sections. I have a hunch part of that was the screwy parking. We got there early but a lot of lots that are normally 1 and 2 lots around the stadium were closed or partially closed to accommodate Pioneer Theater parking. Some of my family got caught scrambling for a spot when their normal parking place was closed to stadium parking.
