Was that a worst case scenario for our QB situation?

I wouldn't trade Hays for Riley Nelson.Originally posted by Hot Lunch View PostHays didn't look like a complete fool throwing the ball straight up in the middle of the of the field not knowing who was around. Both Hays and Riley threw the same amount of picks on Saturday didn't they? I would say ASU is a little bit better competition that SJSU.As I lead this army, make room for mistakes and depression

And meanwhile Utah St has a freshman whom we'd both rather have. How did it come to this?Originally posted by mpfunk View PostHooray, we agree. The Utes have the better of the 2 shitty QBs.

I'd take a Utah-type shellacking once again just to have Turbin on my roster for a year. A great RB can cover up so many deficiencies in the passing game, OL, coach's annoying habits, etc.Originally posted by Hot Lunch View Postand 2 running backs................."Either evolution or intelligent design can account for the athlete, but neither can account for the sports fan." - Robert Brault

Did Bosco get game reps to prepare him for a year "which could be very big?"Originally posted by Surfah View PostDid Jake get to sit a year watching a Davey O'Brien winner in an established offense? Your point here is meaningless.
The coaches have done a disservice to Heaps by inflating the hype. They should not have fawned over him to the press, leading us to believe that he'd perform like one of the top quarterbacks in the nation.
I'm not going out on a limb saying that Jake has not been good this year. He has faced decent defenses, but he's repeatedly thrown the ball to the wrong receiver, thrown the ball too early, or thrown the ball poorly.
These miscues were not limited to the UCF and USU games. We saw it against Ole Miss, Texas, and some against Utah (where I thought he actually played pretty well aside from the fumbles).
I suspect that Jake will get another chance at some point this season, either because of injury to or sucky play by Riley. Whenever that happens, I hope Jake is mentally and physically prepared to be the quarterback he was billed as - making appropriate pre-snap reads, going through progressions (not just chucking it to Apo), and delivering the ball accurately."I think it was King Benjamin who said 'you sorry ass shitbags who have no skills that the market values also have an obligation to have the attitude that if one day you do in fact win the PowerBall Lottery that you will then impart of your substance to those without.'"
