Best case scenario is Riley absolutely proves he is or is not the solution. Unfortunately he ended up right in between, which I think is what a lot of people expected, and in my mind is quite possibly the worst possible outcome for this experiment. As great as he was in the first half, he was pretty bad in the second, and that was a fairly lukewarm performance overall. 219 yards, 3 turnovers, 2 picks, and just inches away from what could have been 4 INTs against what I think was likely the worst team we've faced so far this year.
But he won. And he looked really good in the first half. So now what? You can't bench him after that, and he can keep sliding by for weeks with these types of performances against our schedule. Meanwhile, Jake (who I think a lot of people feel if there is a potential solution at QB on our roster it still lies with him) potentially sits for weeks without taking advantage of the portion of our schedule where he stands to make the most progress with the least amount of pressure.
Tough call here. Thoughts?
