we sat next to some great ute fans. Good banter and fun time despite the beating. They left early though, that was weird.

There were several around us and they were all good sports.

They were probably from north of SLC.

I toyed with going to the game, but had I been there, I would have probably left early in the 4th to make the trek back to Davis County.

There is something to be said for being with your team on the road and celebrating in their stadium, but when it's 11 o-clock, the game has been out of question for an hour and you've been-there-done-that, I think you head for the car to make the ridiculously arduous 2.5 hour journey out of the belly of Utah County.

I was really wishing I'd been there rather than hosting a party, but after talking to my neighbor that was there and didn't get home until after 1:30, I don't feel so bad.

And if you turn it over a few times in the process of running around and making some incredible plays (the way Ty Detmer did, throwing into traffic, etc.) it's completely forgivable. But Heaps doesn't make plays when he is freelancing, doesn't get the ball in the end zone, but then has the horrendous turnovers at the worst times and that's tough to accept.
Does he know that quarterbacks can run the ball if no one is open?

I think it's pretty clear at this point that he avoids contact at almost any cost. Both fumbles can be attributed to that, running out of bounds just short of the first down, etc.

Just had a friend who is a Ute fan write on my Facebook "The tough part about being a BYU fan is that it is like the Special Olympics, even if you win, you are still retarded." Speaks volumes. Even worse, when called out on it he wouldn't recant and pulled the "My retarded brother..." card.

That speaks volumes about your friend, but don't paint the rest of us with that broad, crap-covered brush. I find that statement abhorrent and get angry when people use it.

I called him on it and he said, "You BYU fans get so sensitive after a loss." Sorry Utes, even in victory your fans still have no class.

                          Well, that one doesn't.

Tell him Ute fans are embarrassed he would use that line, especially since there are dozens of points he could smack down cougar fans without resorting to an infantile retort.

It wouldn't be a rivalry game without a discussion of who has more class.
