Now that we're liberated from the MWC and they're no longer our hated rivals, I finally feel no guilt by hopping on the Wyo bandwagon. Powder River, Let 'er buck!

I'm kind of like Surfah, except the Utes are my team, for reasons I've discussed in depth elsewhere. I do have a soft spot for, and will cheer in individual games for the California PAC-12 schools, with UCLA and Stanford at the top of that list. I feel the same way about the service academies. I viscerally dislike Boise State, although I respect what they've accomplished. I'd respect them more if they accomplished it without that blue turf.

        Roll Tide roll.

I hate the following teams Tennessee, Florida, Ohio State and Oklahoma, Auburn and whomever else is really good for a sustained period. I also hate Hawaii and hate playing there because of that damn Rainbow Warrior mascot and the extreme unpleasantness of getting beat down in 2001.

How could I forget hating Notre Dame.

I have the distinction of being a Minnesota Golden Gophers fan. A university where the wrestling and hockey programs wield as much if not more power than the football program.

I have a feeling that Utah will soon be in the same position in the PAC 12 that Minnesota has found itself in the BIG10 for the last 60 years. Going to lower tier bowl games every so often and feeding off the conference $$$.

Of course being a Minnesota fan I have a deep hate for Wisconsin. Also, I have disliked Oregon since watching Joey Harrington and his smug ass grin beat Minnesota in the sun bowl when I was in middle school.

As a BYU fan I of course despise Utah and not just because they are BYU's rival. I am a convert to the LDS church and I always thought Utah fans were a joke because of the fact that more than half of Ute fans are Mormon and try to act like bad asses. Lets have a "Black Out" we are so bad. I'm sorry I know that many Mormons can kick some ass, but, it still cracks me up seeing a bunch of people try to act bad.

USC. Grew up in SoCal and loved the Trojans. But they are surely second and there was no hesitation in wanting the Cougs to rip their balls off when the two met in '03 and '04.

I grew up in SoCal and followed UCLA to some extent. Not as passionately as I followed BYU, but to some extent. Obviously, I am a huge Army fan as well.

Yes. Both of my parents were from Minnesota though. So I was the kid on a bus full of Packer and Wisconsin fans rocking Vikings and Gopher gear. Most likely added to my hate of Wisconsin sports teams.

Growing up in Hawaii and Southern California I will say I follow UCLA, SC, and the Warriors. But I am not invested emotionally in anyway with them. It's hard not to know what is going on with those schools growing up there.

Hawai'I has to be at the top of the list for teams I flat out hate. Got at awesome story about my dad hurling racial insults at my auntie after she kept calling every time they scored in that 01 game where they beat the shit out of us.

I don't follow any other teams besides BYU. I occasionally watch Utah games, but I don't seek out information about their team other than what I glean from this forum.

Born and raised in Utah, my dad took me to BYU games where we'd make bets on the outcome of the game. I always set the terms and I always picked BYU to win. If I won, I'd usually require my dad to buy me a hat or something. If I'd lose, I wouldn't offer anything. My favorite players as a kid were the Bellini brothers.

Over the years, I was sort of left alone to be a BYU fan. My mom went to Utah State, and my dad went to Trade Tech (which eventually became UVU), so other than my dad's slight lean towards BYU, there were no forces pulling me either way. I also have two sisters, so I was often the only one watching BYU sports on the weekend. I remember very clearly watching the Miami game by myself in the kitchen. That game was probably what cemented me as a BYU fan for the rest of my life.

Yeah, I hate Hawaii too for the most part. That '01 game too is probably what contributed most to it. Though I have watched to see some people I know play. My friend's little bro Nate Ilaoa was fun to watch. I'll never forget his stiff arm against USC.

I can't cheer for either one. I've tried to pick a side and I just. cant. do. it. I dislike them both. I suppose if either of them hired a coach that I found reputable, I might pick a side--but not now. Incidentally, I had zero problem cheering for the Utes during the Sugar Bowl.
People ask all the time. It makes me laugh how big of a deal it is to some folks around here, they need you to pick. So Ive chosen UAB and Samford as my loyalties around here. (Btw, going to a FCS game is a lot of fun, like going to minor league baseball. If you get the chance to go, you should.)

I also dislike tOSU intensely. I think it stems from my dislike of Jim Delaney and the Big 10/11/12 or whatever it is now, but they get the benefit of the doubt every year and it drives me nuts. It makes me a Michigan fan by default, though I have no loyalty to them whatsoever.

Sadly, there are more teams that I root against than I root for, and that's in large part why I gave up the NBA. A lot of that has to do with their fans (Nebraska comes to mind).

As far as teams that I root for? I tend to find myself liking the old guard--guys like Bobby Bowden and Joe Paterno. I know Bobby's not coaching anymore, but you get the idea. And even though they are generally pricks, I find myself pulling for TCU all the time. I like Gary Patterson and I hope he owns the Big East.

THIS is the most idiotic statement for hating tOSU I have ever seen.. Just sayin...

As a wrestling fan I concur, but like what PSU is doing w/ Cael and hoping tOSU bounces back from a horrible last year...

                                Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."
