Wrong answer, you can't make a bong out of an orange.

Full disclosure: if given the choice between an apple or an orange, I would choose an apple every time. But I would choose an orange over virtually every other fruit especially a pear which is a cheap-ass apple immitator that wasn't even the original BCS buster.

EPU's answer sounds genuine to me.

The hell you can't. Coincidentally, the assistant principal at Timpview told my wife last week that they are finding orange-bongs all the time.

Did you know that the German word for orange is essentially "Chinese apple"? Mind blown.

Damn. I knew I was going to regret shooting from the hip on that one. My apologies to orange bong users on this board for my ignorance.

Wally is full of it. Pears are delicious, good oranges are fantastic and apples are for teachers and other people who take themselves too seriously. Especially green apples, yech.

Speaking of which, I dropped $2 the other day on a honeycrisp to see what the fuss is all about. Totally underwhelmed.

Thank you. Most overrated fruit on this message board.

For the record, I like some apples. My brand new MBP is sitting here in a box in my office.

I'm fine with apples, if they are in a pie. raw apples with cheese or peanut butter are ok.

I just don't get wally going off on pears. If any fruit readily available to us were from the Tree of Life, it would either be a pear, a dragonfruit, or a passionfruit. It would not be an apple (not very delicious to the taste or particularly desireable, unless Eve was about to make a pie).

Don't judge an extremely late season Honeycrisp. They are mealy and borderline bland right now. Wait another 10 months.

In my mind, a season of football includes the won-loss record and conference affiliation - or non-affiliation for that matter.

I am noticing that responses are centering around why apples are terrible, not why oranges are great. Speaks volumes.

In fact the only person to claim that oranges are fantastic is SJS, who I happen to believe is a royal, strong and true orange fanatic, unlike those who are simply apple haters. But even SJS defends pears more vigorously than he does oranges, lol!

When Patrick Swayze was trying to find out who killed someone in his family (sister?), in Next of Kin, he had to deal with some pretty scary Moonshiners. Isn't making moonshine pretty much the same process as making apple cider...well other than the whole dying from bad batches, or getting killed by your rival clan part.

Hey, wait a minute! I pointed out that oranges can be used to make bongs.
