I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

Dang, talk about not knowing the rival. It was a safety, not a linebacker that Unga demolished at the goal line. Sheesh.Originally posted by Commando View PostAt least you are engaging in actual rivalry smack related to the game rather than unsubstantiated put downs.
For the record, I found 4th and 18 to be hilariously awesome, and I further found Harvey's ass-smashing of that certain loud mouthed Linebacker crossing the goal line to be particularly savory. My only regret is that AC didn't recite the Max Hall tirade, because that's really the only way it would have been more offensive to Ute fans."Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

Equating the mention of beer as a "religious" issue in this context (and almost any context) is silly. You have plenty of religiously charged statements from BM and other players, so I'm not sure why Max mentioning beer is bothersome.Originally posted by Flattop View PostIdiotic or incredibly obvious. You need to connect the WoW to his outrage though. I think he would be equally pissed if someone threw Sprite, hot chocolate, strawberry milk, or even large amounts of water on his family, n'est-ce pas? Especially considering that there was probably a time in Max's life where he was quite fond of beer.Originally posted by Flattop View PostIf not for the WoW, I would agree.Jesus wants me for a sunbeam.

I think that CB style BYU fans earn a badge of courage if they get beer thrown at them at RES, but sprite or chocolate milk only gets you a nod of acknowledgement.Originally posted by RedSox View PostYou need to connect the WoW to his outrage though. And yet, most stories of bad Utah fan behavior always seem to include the consumption of alcohol. Whether it is beer or soda, or something else, would certainly be just as upsetting. But alcohol points to a major difference between both fan bases.Originally posted by RedSox View PostYou need to connect the WoW to his outrage though. To be fair, alcohol consumption is something that points to a difference between BYU fans and every other fanbase besides maybe the Iranian soccer team.Originally posted by Flattop View PostAnd yet, most stories of bad Utah fan behavior always seem to include the consumption of alcohol. Glenn Beck always has to go and get religious on us.“These people were some of the most hateful people I have ever seen,” said a distraught Glenn Beck this morning as he described an altercation he and his family had last night while watching a screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s The 39 Steps in New York’s Bryant Park. Explaining that a group of people yelled at his family, took pictures of them, and kicked a cup of wine onto his wife, Beck said that his security team feels that, had he reacted poorly, things might have “gone off.”
