That area wasn't so nice. I'd like to go back and see if the IHOP is still there between the entrance and The Shrine. I've played a bunch of flag football on that field in the front and some pick up basketball on the courts over in the tree area. It's been a long time so I'm a little fuzzy. I love that campus. It truly is a beautiful place.

Are you going to the game or is that the same week as Texas?
ha. no more IHOP there. Or are you thinking of Dennys? Because there is definitely still a Dennys there for all your "under $5" breakfast needs.

I'm going to be Austin that weekend. If UT were playing in Provo, I would have gone to the SC game instead, but since I haven't seen a game at UT's pad, I'm going to make that trek.

The campus is very cool, albeit old. The Metro Rail is putting a Blue Line stop right by the flagpoles so there will be even easier access to the Coliseum on game day. that opens this year, although not sure if it will be done by September. I know they are really pushing it though. In fact, if you look at the picture of the flagpoles, you can see all the fencing to wall off the last bits of construction. I took those pics on Friday when I was walking around the campus and all that fencing wasn't up previously, so Im hopeful all the finishing touches will be done by football season. If it does get finished, then forget entirely about parking near campus and take the Metro right to the game.

I think someone did tell me that it was now a Denny's. I started going to the USC high school debate tourney when I was in the 7th grade. My dad often worked the tourney so it gave me lots of free time there. The Sizzler right across the street on a Sunday afternoon is an experience for a white boy like me.

      Good times.

We went to that Sizzler before the game in 2003, decked out in BYU gear. SC fans are very nice but we were definitely the minority at Sizzler.

DDD, a group of us here in L.A., along with relatives and friends from elsewhere, want to sit together. We don't want to sit in the U. section and buying from scalpers won't work. We know we'll pay more. What do you suggest? StubHub?

I'm hesitant to suggest stub hub to anyone. Always a ripoff and not uncommon for them to oversell the same seats and then give them to the highest payer, then reassigning everyone else to "comparable" seats. This has happened to several people I know, including me at NOLA Sweet 16 this past March.

That being said, the benefit of stub hub is you have a better choice of really good seats and also better odds at finding greater numbers together.

I don't know how large your group is, so hard to say.

Craigslist LA and OC always has loads of SC tickets, but again if you are looking for 4 or more tickets together, your chances dwindle.

Since that game is not sold out, you may want to check the actual football site ticket section.

            http://www.usctrojans.com/sports/m-f...otbl-body.html

Right now seating is on the tunnel side, above the Thundering Herd section. SC visitors section is awful. Notre Dame gets some better seating but pretty much everyone else is banished to right near the Peristyle where you are really far away. Horrible. I would never sit there, either.

My guess is that you will sitting higher up...maybe row 70 or higher. Not awful, but not amazing.

Another option I would explore is calling the ticket office instead of using the website. Tell them that you are willing to buy stacked seating. For example, if you needed 8 tickets, the website will look for 8 in a row, limiting your options. If you stack, they will look for two consecutive rows with 4 open seats. You all sit together, but in two rows, not one, and you often have more options. Frankly, I prefer stacked seating because you can actually talk to everyone in your group.

Finally, I would assume that in your professional circles you must know someone that is a ranking member of the C&G (think Cougar Club Legacy member or whatever the Crimson Club pretige level is called). They will often have the option to purchase more seats if the game is not sold out, and they will often have access to better seating.

Really it will all depend on how many people want to sit together.

Thanks a bunch for a LOT of information. Much appreciated.

I got 8 to the Oregon/Southern Cal game through Stub Hub last year, but we paid a premium and I ended up sitting next to a guy that complained about me texting, then asked me if I was going to text the whole game, then pulled out his 8 year old blackberry and started looking at messages once the game was over in the 3rd quarter. The visitor section feels like you are miles away from the game.

I was thinking about this re: the UT game. UT hasn't distributed its season tix yet or even confirmed seat assignments, but the tickets are all over the web.

Do season ticket holders not know their seats as long as they made the required donation? My seats weren't technically assigned until last week, but I knew I was getting my seats.

At SC, you have the same seats as long as you renew. I was moved 6 years ago to accommodate the band wagon, but after a few terse emails, I had my seats returned.

They shift a little based on who's willing to write which checks. But yes, renewing season tk holders can assume they're getting seats.

Did you just threaten to send future family members to Eugene and they took care of you?

Also what's the word on Hamani?

Dude, I HATE that. One time I was stuck next to this guy who texted during the whole game. Kept texting somebody named CJ and some Oregon fan. I'm not even sure he realized his team ended up winning.

There's totally nothing wrong with 8-year-old blackberries, btw.

I don't want to say anything; they may tack on another year to the bowl ban & take more scholis away....lol!!

Hamani is well; it pains me to see him turning his back on his Trojan roots, his dad is an alum as well. He looks good, of course being over seas helped in keeping his weight down; no post mish fat. He's headed north in the next couple of days. My family slanted view is that he makes an impact in fall camp and will end up somewhere on the 2 deep.

I don't see a way Hamani doesn't crack the two deep, he'll see the field against LSU I believe.
