The Big East expansion groundswell thread

Looks like B east has ESPN as their sole TV partner for football (other than locals). So I'm sure ESPN is going to still give us all our BYUtv and rebroadcast rights they agreed to before. It was fox that was allegedly making a stink with the B12. This may cost us a game on one of the ESPN networks, but wouldn't you trade that for a championship game on ESPN? Better competition?

OK, I'm convinced this is a major upgrade over independence. And won't BYU have a shot at a championship next year? Boise will take a slight step back. Is Houston's QB a Sr?

Clearly I'm getting ahead of myself. But a BCS game next year just became a real possibility. Even if I can't muster any immediate excitement over the strange teams that will be on our schedule.

Case Keenum is a 6th year senior, so yes. If all these teams were able to join next year (I don't think they can because of buyouts, and WVU, Pitt, Syacuse still being held down), then BYU has a shot with Kellen Moore, Case Keenum both gone.

The Big East bottom feeders are still a shitload better than the MWC bottom feeders. Big East >>> (by far) MWC.

No. It wasn't. The geography sucks. But this is not close to a conference with the UNLV, UNM, WYO, etc of the Mtn West. Those have been the worst teams in all of football.

What the fcuk? The geography is great: we get Texas, Florida and east coast. Those are new areas with a much higher profile.

In a world of constrained maximization, this was the best outcome...the B12 is just in no shape to figure out its life and it has lost Louisville in the process (and BYU).

every byu fan has proclaimed the drop off of BSU for the past ten years and two different coaches.

they have a good admin committed to success and they are a shitty academic school willing to get low qual students with exceptional athletic talent.

No doubt I agree, but Kellen Moore is still a little bit irreplaceable. Chris Peterson (and when Dan Hawkins was HC) made Jared Zabransky and Ryan Dinwiddie into really good college players, and even got those guys into the pros in the CFL. Boise State fans seem really high on this new QB from Florida that they have (Nick Patti) for some reason.
