Give it to 'em, NJ.I.C.!Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

My 3 little guys all made it through the whole game. I had the youngest with me (we were all separated in different sections) and none complained. The wind was brutal. I'd have it no other way. November games in RES are awesome!Originally posted by LA Ute View PostMy daughter showed me she was made of good football fan stuff Friday in RES. We were feeling that wind and I know she doesn't like the cold. She was bundled up in a hat, hoodie, and blanket and I asked her how she was holding up. She said, "I'm OK, this is football. Mind over matter, you know?" I was proud.

I understand your concern and do not dispute your observations. I'm not overly concerned nor offended if people doubt my efforts to take the higher road. If people believe me, fine. If they don't, then ultimately they are getting upset at someone for having wished them well.Originally posted by The Notorious J.I.C. View PostReading this forum for 2 1/2 year, I have watched you needle, belittle, prod, denigrate, and attack multiple posters, groups, and ideas. Yet you cannot comprehend why others would doubt your sincereity. Anytime someone posts fourteen times that they are going to take the high road, I wonder if they are truly taking the high road. Or is this just another asinine meme.
But this place has been unbearable for the last several months and could use many more folks taking the high road. So I will accept that you are doing so with good intention. But, I fully understand why others do not.
Utes, I congratulate you on a 7-5 season, on the establishment of the Rumble in the Rockies with Colorado, and wish you all the very best in the Sun Bowl or the Vegas Bowl. Also, I wish the Ute basketball team all the best as it seeks a second win. If these tidings upset any of you, so be it. I also encourage fellow Cougar fans to congratulate the Utes and seek out and focus on positive things about their football and basketball seasons.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

So here are some way-after-the-fact game thoughts.
1. I think back to a comment Solon made while he was watching a game at my house. He said that these are all 18-23 year old kids. Some of them just broke up with their girlfriend this week, some of them found out the day before that they failed an English test, some are fighting with roommates about bills, and others are worried about their credit card being maxxed out. It is a small wonder that they are as focused as frequently as they are. Utah's players clearly came out flat, for reasons that only they will understand. Once CU had some success, the rode the emotion to victory.
2. We are a flawed team, and have been all year. Once I accepted that premise, this season become more enjoyable. When that is the case, a team has to play nearly flawlessly to overcome the shortcomings that we have at several positions. Costly penalties, an anemic offense in the first half, a rough day for our kicker(who was nails in the snow last week, and has come up big since his wtf miss at BYU), and a costly fumble were too much for this team to overcome. Our last 4 wins have come because we played mostly flawless football. This week, the worm turned.
3. I have a hard time faulting our defense, when they only gave up 17 points. The fact that we are critical of that performance, shows just how thin our margin of error has been this season.
4. We have a nice core returning. Several key positions were manned by seniors, but overall, only 12 scholarship seniors are moving on after the bowl game. Plenty of talent returning, and plenty of experience on both sides of the ball."The first thing I learned upon becoming a head coach after fifteen years as an assistant was the enormous difference between making a suggestion and making a decision."

I think it depends on his evaluation. The current feeling is that he will be given a 2nd round eval by the NFL. If he gets that, I can't imagine that he will stay. 3-4th, I don't know. 5th+ he will be back.Originally posted by Hsaru View PostIs Star going to go pro?

So the first few posts on this page were about revenge factor. I don't care enough to click one page back and read, but is the act that was so bad to have my Ute brethren upset last fall still a revengeful factor?Get confident, stupid

Lots of reasons to want to beat CU. Revenge is not at the top of my list. Simple pride and self-respect ought to be enough.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostSo the first few posts on this page were about revenge factor.
