DDD said it well. What an fun experience. We rode the double decker bus, and it was cool. I was happy to see a good CUF representation, and even happier to be able to text "scoreboard" to landpoke after his constant texting smack all game long.sigpic

DDD:
I really felt like an investigator at sacrament meeting wearing jeans. The BYU kids that painted chests just made this a little worse.

What were the plays Eason looked bad on? I thought he was going to be real solid this year, and didn't notice anything particular during the game. But Sampson took his minutes at the end and there were a few comments in this thread about his poor play.

I haven't read this thread but that was incredibly dumb play call for a freshman QB on an obvious passing down right in front of his goal line. Now I still think that BYU may well have gotten the ball back and come down and scored a TD, but good heavens run the ball, run some more time off and let that punter they have who can kick it into the next state go to work. I can see they might have been thinking they really needed to try to pick up the first down, but roll him out or do anything other than a 7 step drop. Particularly if you know your QB is going to try to run with the ball Deon Sanders style (one hand, arm extended), though maybe they didn't. Ole Miss really wilted under the pressure of the last few minutes of the game whereas BYU really stepped up.Originally posted by Surfah View PostVan Noy's sack/ff/fr/TD is #8 on Sportscenter top plays.

Yeah, they are all in sun dresses with plenty of cleavage showing. My wife said it reminded her of Russia, where women expose as much as possible and walk arm in arm.Originally posted by UtahDan View PostI was noticing on television, and have commented on this before regarding other games I have been to in the south, the large number of sun dresses in the stands. Anyone who was there want to comment on this particular aesthetic?

There may be one I'm forgetting, but Eason was really the only corner who got beat yesterday. And, IIRC, he got beat 2 or 3 times.Originally posted by jay santos View PostWhat were the plays Eason looked bad on? FWIW, you don't know that's a bad defense. They were bad last year, and while you have that fact on your side, until we see them play a few more games, it's just conjecture on your part.Originally posted by mpfunk View PostPeople aren't down on Heaps, they are giving him way too much credit. He had a bad game against a terrible defense. Yes the guy has a ton of talent, but he, to date, hasn't produced on the field. Even against a bad defense today, he wasn't good.
I expect Heaps to be a very good QB at BYU and probably will be one this year, but he was bad today. I'm amazed to see grades in the C or B range for him.
Also, I thought Heaps mostly played like garbage. Before the touchdown drive where he didn't miss a pass and threw a great pass on the TD, I would have given him about a D.Last edited by smokymountainrain; 09-04-2011, 08:32 AM.I'm like LeBron James.
