The game reminds me a lot of Oklahoma, and not just because of the score. The offense was JUUUST enough to top off what the defense gave today. Van Noy and Pendleton were amazing. Secondary was adequate, albeit with serious mistakes-- good thing that kid dropped the touchdown pass. Offense seemed to figure things out bit by bit; improved execution (and a bit better playcalling) and we should be quite good.

I disagree. They had stopped the offense from scoring, but they took their sweet time doing it. And the offense was clicking on all cylinders after the last drive. Offense was worse than I expected. Defense was better. Our front 7 are really good. But it's not like the offense was totally inept. They moved the ball fine, just made boneheaded mistakes. I'd really like to see them go with a little quicker tempo when we're moving the ball like that.Comment

This was one of BYU's games on its schedule that could have gone either way. Very glad to get a win.
The defense was encouraging. Offense and speciql teams, not so encouraging.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”Comment
