Getting very pumped for Gameday now. Here are my (early) thoughts about the keys to the game:
1) Ground control: How ready is BYU's D-Line to plug up Ole Miss' holes. Shutting down their ground game, especially with Ole Miss being unproven at QB, is going to be IMO the biggest key. Ole Miss brings back some hogs up front. BYU has experience and some depth across the line, though I am not as high on the DLine as most. If the front 3 of BYU can eat up the blocks and allow the 'backers to roam free, defensively BYU should be in a great position. It also should make the DBs job easier, the one unit I do still have questions about, where either the players are a little short on either talent or experience. Shutting the ground game down and getting pressure with three makes the back seven able to do their jobs. If the 'backers are free to make tackles, it means the secondary can just focus on covering. And that starts with the D-Line.
2) Offensive execution: The biggest issues plaguing the offense last year in my opinion were things like dropped passes or overthrows to receivers. With a full year of experience, hopefully Heaps and Co. are clicking and connecting on passes that were just a bit out of reach last year, and receivers do a better job holding onto the ball. I'll admit to not knowing as much about Ole Miss as I should, but knowing they're an SEC school, I'm expecting their overall team speed to be better than BYU, and I'm expecting them to be fairly physical. I expect BYU's offense to be clicking, but their offensive execution (minimizing dropped passes, eliminating penalties and holding onto the football) are going to be key for BYU.
3) The South: Between the distance traveling to the game (it's tough heading more than one time zone away to go play and win) and the potential for heat and humidity, it will be interesting to see how BYU handles not only the travel, elements but the hostility of an SEC crowd for such a young team.

They're ok but you will enjoy the cheese plate, ribs, and experience at the Reaundavous. Their dry ribs have been featured on every cooking network. Skip the Rendevous unless you are into Name places. It's okay, but nothing great. If you want ribs, go to Silky O'Sullivans on Beale St. Excellent dry rub ribs.
