He has been in Mexico for awhile now. Isn't he coming up on 2 weeks now? I heard Bronco is going to serve as both offense and defensive coordinator this year. He is really looking to make a big splash with the independence thing."Take it to the Bank"

I don't anticipate any announcements coming until Monday. Jan. 4 is the first day coaches can go recruiting, so I'd be surprised if it went much beyond that.Originally posted by falafel View PostLet's name the new OC already. Along these lines, serious question. Really.Originally posted by Viking View PostThe stats don't lie: Anae was very, very good. Doman is unknown. This feels like a mistake.
Why is everyone so high on Doman? I ask out of ignorance as I don't follow the program enough to know.I intend to live forever.

I think it is a combination of things. He's young, dynamic, the best recruiter on the staff and in short he is BYU. He is like an offensive version of Bronco who actually ended up at the Y. An overachiever who did more with his abilities than anybody expected.Originally posted by Brian View PostAlong these lines, serious question. Really.

I like Doman from the time I spent watching practices. He seemed to be the guy on the staff that the players related to best and the QB play under his tutelage has been pretty good. He seems to be a coach with tremendous upside who loves the school.

I don't have a high opinion of the masses that started wanting to replace Anae with Doman after a couple games this season. But Bronco's apparently doing it, so I have to trust Bronco. And maybe the masses were right. It's a strange world.Originally posted by U-Ute View PostI think the silence to my question has spoken. I think, as sometimes happens, the masses were right for (partially) the wrong reasons.Originally posted by jay santos View PostI don't have a high opinion of the masses that started wanting to replace Anae with Doman after a couple games this season. Can he coach? Does he know X,Os?
More offensive that Bronco? Impossible.Originally posted by Sizzle View PostHe is like an offensive version of Bronco who actually ended up at the Y.I intend to live forever.

Bronco, a man not known for giving high praise called him the best QB coach in the country. It has been alleged that he has other offers out there. The play of the QBs has not been an issue under his tenure, with essentially every QB showing progress during their time with him. I think it is safe to say he probably knows his Xs and Os and can coach. He can definitely recruit, and that is absolutely a huge part of success at the D1 level. He isn't a sure thing as an OC. But I think he has proven enough to give him a shot and has proven more as a coach IMO than a guy like Detmer, somebody's name that has also been thrown around.Originally posted by Brian View PostCan he coach?
