Even if you disregard the MLS and Women's World Cup, there still Copa America and Gold Cup after the Champions League final and conclusion of prestigious European leagues in late May.

French and German leagues started play this weekend, and the EPL starts next weekend. There's plenty of quality soccer in the summer.

So, now Eric Rowe is getting some buzz at SS, while McGill seems to be living up to the hype at FS. Walker is still the starter at SS, but some are concerned about his his size.

These safeties could be the antonym to last year's safeties. Taptap was a SS playing FS, while Blechen was a SS who made some gigantic plays, but seemed increasingly susceptible to big plays as the season went on. However, they were both rocks in run support.

McGill is rangy, like a free range chicken, and Walker is the starter because he can be in the right place at the right time, and he evidently closes well, whatever the hell that means. Rowe is a freshman freak from Texas, and he's making noise. Not physically imposing, but a runner like The World's Greatest Athlete, or something.

So, in my proud yet totally uninformed opinion, the safeties will be an improvement from 2010 in the passing game, but not as solid in the run game. However, the front seven should be more than capable against the run. Ergo, I am no longer concerned about the safeties.

The boys need safeties who can play the pass, because the greatest concern is at CB, even though the Prophet of the Interception is on the two deep. If the corners can get up to speed, nipples will be hardened.

I expect the Utah defense to be pretty freaking stout. PRETTY FREAKING STOUT!

Also, Joe Kruger is tall and Star Lotuleilei is so good you almost forget his name makes him sound like a Polynesian stripper.
