I was just listening to Dan Patrick's fill-in (can't remember his name - Kevin something). He was giving major props to TCU and felt that they would hang with Auburn, especially since they took on Wisconsin's powerful running game and still came out the victor. Too bad we will never know.
But let's play the "what if" game. What if TCU played Auburn? Frankly, I think TCU would win 6 of 10 times. TCU has a strong O line (Oregon did not). And Little Orphan Andy looked to me to be every bit the QB that Cam Newton did, at least comparing their bowl performances.
Further "what if" - What if 2010 TCU played 2008 Utah? Gotta give that one to TCU, pretty much hands down.
