In one word: Who would you rather have, Wynn or Heaps?

I'm impressed you usually go for the personal attacks much quicker than this. You still haven't answered the question, has Heaps had a good game against a decent defense yet? Also, why do games against bad defenses count when they are BYU players but not Ute players?

Heaps. I'm not arguing that Wynn is better. I'm not sure if it is an injury or not, but Wynn was terrible in the 2nd half of the season.

        • I would give a large donation to both the Cougar and Crimson clubs if junkie and mp would just get it over with and make out. The tension is killing me!

Seriously, if life were a romantic comedy these two would be waking up in bed and making each other lattes right now.

Heaps is a true freshman that as the season went on actually put up better numbers against superior pass defenses than he did early on in the season that is called progression. That was the whole point of my post now stop littering this thread with your garbage.

I have been saying from spring ball how good Heaps was going to be, when 99% of cougar nation jumped off the bandwagon and some dumbasses were actually calling for Lark or Munns I was still the president of his fan club. Anyone that knows anything about football could see from Day 1 that he was going to be special. Early on he struggled which is to be expected but you could tell that physically he had all the tools. He has a rocket for an arm, he has good touch on his deep ball, he is fairly accurate with his passes. Mentally he was making to many mistakes early but that is to be expected from an 18 year old kid.

In the Utah State game if not for 13 dropped passes he puts up big numbers against them. TCU has the best pass defense in the country and he was clearly overmatched. Those are the only two games where I thought he underperformed significantly but the USU game I do not think was his fault as much as it was his shitty receivers.

I will continue to say that he is going to be a special player and one of the all time greats at BYU. The fact that some people are still pointing to his level of competition as a reason for his success to me is asinine. If you actually watch college football you can clearly see the progression without looking at any of the numbers.

Playing against UNLV has been a turning point game for many careers.

Regardless of competition, this is what worries me about Wynn. Whether injury contributed, I cannot say, but his progression(or lack thereof) is a big concern for me, and what gives uncertainty moving forward. Even if he had struggled, if progression could be seen, the future would not be as cloudy. Inconsistency is a tough thing to watch.

Has the statute of limitations run out on the 2007 game?

I saw zero progression out of Wynn. IMO he got worse. Injury or not, he made horrible decisions. So unless he was playing concussed the entire year I am not going to buy into the injury excuse for Wynn.

I feel about the same. I can buy some argument that not feeling like you can stick a ball into a spot could make you indecisive, but that is balanced by the fact that some of his more decisive throws were bad throws(thinking about the first pass against TCU to Brooks that hit the LB right in the hands)
