Uh oh Goat, more hype from the Domanator!
If Quezada develops into a good runningback who can rush for > 1100 yards, average > 5 ypc and catch > 30 passes and score 12 TDs, then, barring injuries, BYU is going to be really good.

I still think next year is more rb by committee, but I do think it likely that JQ will have the most carries of the bunch. I would imagine that JQ gets aboiut 175 carries, JJ will have about 150 and BK will get about 100. That increases JQ carries by 76 while JJ and BK decrease by 28 and 37 respectively.

The year after that is when JQ will get the lions share as my guess is Hines and Phillips will be brought along slow while Alisa will move into the role BK has held.

Is it expected for Alisa to redshirt this year?

I expect Kaveinga to be really good, but I still maintain that Fangupo is going to be biggest surprise and the key to whether or not BYU can be really good on defense. That was the biggest recruiting pickup of the year - especially with the double whammy to RF and JR.

I believe he was singled out as having helped himself in spring - if BYU is serious about re-integrating the FB into the offensive scheme then having a guy who's more of a threat catching balls out of the backfield like Alisa would be a nice thing.

Love Zed, but kind of hope Alisa is starting by mid-year.

I don't know. BYU still has Mendenhall as a blocking fullback, but that is about all the kid can do. Alisa can also run and catch the ball. I would like to see him bulk up to at least 235 and play a role like Manase Tonga. I don't know if he can get there this year.

I just wonder between him not being there yet physically, this being a new position, the depth BYU has in its big 3 of runners and Mendenhall as a blocking FB, if there will be enough reps to make it worth while for him to use a year of elgibility this year.

On the other hand, the next 3 years look to be a huge opportunity for BYU and if MA playing this year helps BYU either this year or the next two, as MA would thus be more experienced, then perhaps playing him makes the most sense.

After a conversation that I had recently that is as close to the BYU defensive line as you can get, I might have to agree with this. I was told that Fangupo is just and incredible talent and that his strength and speed for a big d lineman is something BYU has never had in their program. If he stays healthy according to this guy I talked to, teams better lookout.

BTW, the conversation wasn't with the dude I always talk to about BYU football.

So you read Bronco's comments, too, huh?

Nope, I don't read or listen to stuff from Bronco. It hurts my eyes and ears. This was an actual conversation I had with as good a source you could get. I may be seeing him again soon. Let me know if you have any questions you would like me to ask.

Don't act tough now. You love Bronco and you know it.

A better source than Bronconi? I can't imagine who that would be. Only person I can think of would be Kaufusi since he works directly with the DLine.

Just because Mrs. Hot Lunch uses a nekkid Bronco Mendenhall slip slidin' away as her homescreen is no reason to get totally jealous. Follow Mike Hague's plan and she will think the Lunch has never been Hotter!

I really hope he stays injury free, he's a great kid. I know old man Kiffin & Eddie O were sad to see him go. He used to punk the OL here on a regular basis.

I think the only reason he is not heading to an NFL paycheck shortly are the injuries he sustained. From what I understand none of the injuries are lingering and have had any negative impact on his ability to play today, just some bad luck while he was at USC. If he can stay healthy and prove that it was bad luck rather than being injury prone, I think he will make the NFL.

I am looking pretty trim right now. Mrs. Hot Lunch is pleased.
