I wonder if TCU will be good enough in the long run to be a positive add to the Big East. Granted, the conference is horrible but it adds a huge travel burden to their schools and really only benefits the football programs.

I just don't think anyone should pity them. From a fans perspective, they continue to do great, even if they aren't playing for a national championship. Their average year is pretty darn good and they do it from the WAC, MWC, whatever. At some point they will take the next step, I believe.

I feel bad for them because everyone disrespects their schedule, so they make a move to a stronger conference, only to see the 3 best teams leave. Now they're in a conference that's a little better competitively, but they lose the exposure of playing on ESPN.

Good for Boise. Leaving the WAC to join the more prestigious MWC, playing teams like Hawaii, Fresno State, Nevada, and possibly Utah State every year.
            Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

This is what might doom BSU. Their players go from being the ESPN poster child (albeit on Friday nights, but that is still a national audience) to being relegated to the mtn. or whatever will be there next year. That has to kill recruiting for them. Hopefully for their sake Chris Peterson sticks around and continues to make great DI players out of kids that weren't highly recruited.

They are betting they will be like Miami was before they left for the ACC. Not regionally aligned and doesnt do much more than football but able to carry the conference in Football.

BSU move to the MWC is still a good move for them. The new MWC (even without BYU, TCU and Utah) is better than the old WAC. The WAC is the big loser here. They didn't get BYU's other sports and I don't think adding Texas State and U of Denver is going to help them much.

The question I have is the mtn channel going to survive without the big three. It seems the ads on the mtn are mostly targeted for Utah viewers. Without the addition of USU to the MWC it seems the mtn will need a whole new set of advertisers to pay the bills.

TCU isn't going to the Big East.

It's obnoxious that Boise and BYU aren't in the same conference.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I keep thinking CSU and Wyoming will turn it around. They showed signs last year (or maybe the year before) but both really seem to be struggling. The big winner in all of this is SDSU. If Hoke decides to stay, you could see SDSU in a BCS bowl within 5 years.

There will be a middling BCS program that throws a ton of money at Brady Hoke. I don't think there's any measurable commitment to football at SDSU, so you can't count on them ever sustaining success, although it would be interesting to see what Rocky Long could do there.

I think BYU should shore up the USU program by making them our official rival. Utah will be paired with some Pac12 team, and their AD completely disrespects BYU, as shown in his radio interview when he said,

"I dunno... BYU... the stakes have changed in our negotiations with them. Some of our supporters have recommended that we do a 7-for 1... 8-for-1 deal with them... (laughs)... we seriously have to rethink where we go from here..."
(Granted, he said this when negotiations for a game next year were stalled, and Utah was attempting to take a hard line that BYU would have to play at RES two years in a row, but his head is seriously in the clouds)

I really wouldnt mind Utah State. They're good for a string of wins, but they're dangerous enough to beat the Cougs on a down year. And they hate us with as much passion as the utes do. The basketball games would be entertaining and a serious pissing contest. The rivalry would be good for their program and maybe they can finally get a new stadium.
