Isn't TCU part of the club? It wouldn't prove anything to let TCU into the BCS Championship. They would say "Yeah we recognized how good their program is and invited them to the club, same with Utah."

In fact with TCU and Utah being invited I think the idea of an anti-trust loses pretty much any legs, since the BCS members can point to the teams that have crashed the party most and say if you are good enough you get invited to the table.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Hey this is the SEC, cheating is absolutely allowed.

Like a good TV partner should. Do you think the Mtn. would do any differently than CBS for a MWC program?

That's what you get from a good partner.

Sure. Just thought maybe a little integrity would pop up here or there.

Unfortunately a lot of integrity has been lost in sports.

              • It's too bad, up until about 2 or 3 weeks ago Cam Newton was becoming one of my favorite college football players ever to watch play the game. He plays the game like it is supposed to be played, he is damn good, he busts his butt and he always has a smile on his face while out on th e field. Cam is an incredible talent and seems like he is a legitimately a good guy. Now I want to see Auburn go down in flames because of how everything has played out.

                  When was Boise State invited?

If BSU goes to the BCS again in a year or two from the MWC somewhere a spot will open up for them in an AQ conf. I'm not trying to pick at you, but the simple fact is that everyone knows that the WAC has 5-6 teams that couldn't win in Texas, Ohio, Florida or California high school leagues. So BSU's national games are met with skepticism because they only have to play 1-2 games a year and never suffer player attrition or stress of multiple opponents.

If BSU continues on the path they are on, and as long as Peterson is there I expect them too, they will be in the Big 12, Pac 14, or some other future expansion of an AQ league IMO.

I have never made a plea for the wiggidy wiggidy WAC. You said, "...since the BCS members can point to the teams that have crashed the party most and say if you are good enough you get invited to the table." Name one non-AQ school that has accomplished more than BSU in the last decade? Despite the weak conference play, Peterson has positioned BSU to have a chance at BCS bowls. One shitty night for the place kicker and now Boise State is irrelevant again?

Not despite, it is because of the weak conference play they were in that position.

Obviously those involved in extending invites disagree. TCU has been back to back, which has never been done by a non-AQ and will go this year as the highest ranked non-AQ. Utah was the first and beat the highest ranked team. Like I said I think if BSU goes again in the next year or two from the MWC, there will be a spot for them in the next round of expansions.

I'm not as convinced of that as you.

A year ago I wouldn't have been convinced. Now I have a hard time seeing it any differently. TCU ads nothing to the Big East. No TV pull, small disinterested fan base, awful basketball yet they get invited. For me the only conclusion that I can draw is that the AQ leagues feel like it is better to invite those at the top of the non-AQ rather than fight against them.

I disagree with this, but I am typing from my phone, would take to long. So I will shorthand.

No tv pull, but now major player. Potential growth especially for big east with no presence their. + recruiting potential.

On the other hand, I think the big east took a risk with TCU to try and stop the raid that is just over the hill.

What does BSU offer besides the football team? No potential. BSU is at full potential. Ot that the football team isn't good.
