Very promising. I still don't like all the shotgun inside handoffs, but it seems to be working.

I do love getting all 3 back involved though. This should be a fun game.

Wyoming is the perfect defense for BYU. Easy to run on so BYU has to run the ball. Just enough passing to help build some chemistry for Heaps and the WR's. Hopefully this continues and the offense gains some sort of identity.

Sort of agreed, but I've never heard Bronco talk like that about Heaps, so it's still good to hear.

Did you miss fall camp? Part of the huge expectation on the kid was the stuff coming out of the coaches mouths. Doman calling him "a phenom at the position" and Bronco saying he's one of "the brightest prospects at the position he's ever seen."

These guys should be tempering expectations for the kid. Cougar fans are crazy enough, they don't need this added bit hype.

Offense feels different today. The almost hook up with Hoffman on the first play was encouraging. Running well.

I understand that very well. I like that the first play they took a shot down the field. Very close to hitting on that. Instead of trying to do it again, they methodically pounded the ball. Just feels like a different mind set today.

Just another crappy throw from Heaps. That's the kind of stuff that disappoints me about the kid. That's an easy throw and gets us a 1st down.

Yeah, I guess it's just to hear it since he became the starter. I heard lots of it while it was still about a guy who wasn't leading the team. I see it as trying to boost Jake's confidence more than to build hype among fans. I could be wrong, but I don't think Bronco would intentionally build hype without some more proximate motive.
