        Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

So Max's apology last fall was forced on him...big surprise. Max disappointed me more with that apology than his rant. If you feel that way, own it, don't apologize for it. What could they do to him if he didn't apologize, not let him walk at graduation? Take away his secret decoder pin that allows him to understand Bronco's Seven Habits ramblings?

You left out the middle game, the one that inspired his childish rant totally justified post-game comments that reeked of good sportsmanship and that only a dummy would criticize.

Yes LA, but you need to understand that the cougs have 3 of the last 4, (3 OF THE LAST 4!) on us and if you don't count the middle game, they are 3-0 vs. us. They own us. All you have to do is look at the arbitrary time frame chosen and discount the Utah wins that really shouldn't count.

Yeah. The routs that clinched Utah's spot in two BCS bowls are the last thing anybody here wants to talk about.

In reality, BYU's 2005 loss was much, much more painful than 04 or 08. In 04 and 08, BYU was supposed to lose, and most of us knew they would. However, in 05 BYU had a the better team, and, if they play that game 10 times, BYU probably wins it 8 of the 10 times. On top of that, BYU had a chance to keep Utah from a bowl game and put Whittingham on the hot seat, just a season into his HC tenure.

By blowing that game, BYU not only allowed the Utes a chance to salvage the season with a rivalry win and a bowl win, but laid the foundation for 2008 by allowing Brett Ratliff to emerge as the 2006 starter, which allowed Johnson an extra year to 'heal.' If BYU wins the 2005 game, Ratliff would never even been in consideration for the starting job the following season, and Brian Johnson would have likely burned his senior year in Utah's mediocre 2007 campaign.

In summary, if you were a more savvy Zoot, you'd know to twist the 2005 knife, as opposed to those 04 and 08 knives which are your clear favorites.
Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Nope, Brian Johnson still would've redshirted, but instead of Ratliff it would've been Tommy Grady in 2006.

Wait, that further proves your point, doesn't it?

Anyway, if BYU had won in OT, Ratliff still would've been the starter in 2006.
