The Utah defense is a constant. Save for two years with John Beck, when our defensive personnel was at its thinnest, it has consistently made BYU QBs look poor compared to what they've done the rest of the year.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostI love how the success of Max Hall and previous BYU qbs dictates the success of Jake Heaps and future BYU qbs.

I hope so. Collie is getting paid big bucks because of this, and right now we have a stockpile of high school talent that can't get any separation from D1 defenders.Originally posted by mpfunk View PostThere will be surprising improvement in the ability of the WRs to push off and disguise push offs.

Not at all. I don't mean it in a derogatory way. The guy was great at pushing off and not getting called for it. That is absolutely a skill.Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View PostYou make this sound like it is bad or something. As I lead this army, make room for mistakes and depression

Only if he is not on your team. Kind if like the complaints that Utah's corners grab-hold and pillage wideouts. It is a cost-benefit equation that has paid off for both parties involved.Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View PostYou make this sound like it is bad or something.

So John Beck was only successful because your D was at its thinnest? Even though you had all world Weddle back there? I thought I had thick homer goggles.Originally posted by Top Ute View PostThe Utah defense is a constant. He was also the benefit of facing dumb corners, like ones that get caught looking in the backfield on 4th and 18.Originally posted by Jarid in Cedar View PostOnly if he is not on your team. You definitely have to be a moron to do that. That play will define McCain's Utah career; fairly or unfairly.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostHe was also the benefit of facing dumb corners, like ones that get caught looking in the backfield on 4th and 18.

With that being said he is still cashing a NFL paycheck, so good for him.*Banned*

McCain was about a B-B+ corner at Utah. He played well but had several wtf moments that the fans will always remember(and forget that he was overall pretty good).Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostYeah that was bad, maybe the most boneheaded play in rivalry history.

The cb position is scrutinized by Utah fans about as much as qb is at BYU.
