I've heard an interesting story about Friday night. According to sources, Hill was giving the defense a post game dog-cussing for their lack of effort and inability to run his defense. Reportedly, the defense, stood up mid-tirade and left the room. The players respect for Hill has been on the decline and Bronco was aware of it but no one realized how far Jaime had lost his team until that happened. Bronco, as the head coach, had to decide what tack to take and consequently decided to fire Hill. Part of the reason the players are scared for practice this week is that they know they shouldn't have revolted against Hill and they know Bronco will re-establish discipline. Despite knowing they would have to pay for it, they revolted anyway because they couldn't follow Hill any longer.

If I were Hill I would keep a low profile. I figure it is probably pretty easy for him and his family to blend in Utah County. Perhaps he could get one of those charitable jobs making overpriced mormon underwear!

Here's a scary thought: Had Hill not been let go, there's a pretty good chance BYU would be 2-7 right now with losses to SDSU and Wyoming.

That may be emotionally satisfying for fans but it does nothing to make BYU's defense any better this year, I predict. I think it rarely makes sense to do this sort of think mid season, rarely works and is a desperation move.
