Steven Thomas played up until that point and finished with 1 tackle. Now remember BYUs scheme against Air Force is for the safeties to make plays. Andrew Rich finished with 14 tackles when they ran to his side. Thomas 1 tackle.

He was horrendous and I do not think it can be said enough.
Uale came in earlier than that for a series. It was in the 2nd quarter after we gave up some huge scoring play. I can't remember which one off the top of my head. I remember thinking they benched Thomas finally. Then...they brought Thomas back in the next series.

This guy sucked some serious ass on Saturday, does BYU have another option?
Given that Utah-UNLV was going on at the same time, I watched very little of this game. But one play I remember, on AFA's opening drive of the second half, some DB got absolutely trucked by Asher Clark, and got another 5-7 yards after the impact. I think the number was 24, but couldn't tell.

On the same play, Rich got up slowly, and they went to commercial while he was being looked at. Was Thomas that DB that Clark laid out? I don't see Clark as being a big hitting-RB, so if Thomas couldn't bring him down, I can understand the angst over his performance.

LOL. I'll bet you didn't watch much of it. That's the funniest thing I've seen you post on CUF, perhaps ever.

To those that didn't hear what I did about Thomas, maybe it was in a dream.

Scout's honor. I barely watched any of it. Hell, I didn't even TIVO Utah-UNLV, and I always TIVO our games. But between an open browser window on my laptop and the glee coming from UF.N chat, I was able to stay abreast of what was going on.

The OLBs did not make any plays and we saw what Thomas did.
I'm seeing Hunter, Pendleton, Frazier and Ogletree getting a majority of the plays. I saw stout get in on some of the plays.

Which LBs are getting plays due mainly to seniority and who should replace them? Is it pretty clear cut that Van Noy should be playing instead of Frazier? Should Stout be in front of Ogletree/Jorgenson?
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

There was a play or two where both Rich and Thomas went out with injuries but checked back in later the same series.

I think this board has been consistently terrified of Thomas seeing any significant playing time since Bills received his mission call last year. I don't really understand how the coaches can see this glaring deficiency better than anybody day in and day out, yet not address it either in JC recruiting or in cross-training a corner like Bradley or Galea'i from strong to free safety.

There is a certain QB on the team who is quite tough and is particularly athletic, despite his lack of arm strength. He's been known to deliver a hit as a ball carrier, and I happen to think he would make a great safety and would probably be just as good as a cross-trained Bradley or Galea'i. His name escapes me at the moment.

                          Linebackers should be:

                          OLB- Pendelton
                          OLB- Van Noy
                          MLB- Ogletree
                          MLB- Leung- Wai

With the first backups being Jorgensen and Stout. Stout has struggled a bit early on but has the skills to be good, same with Jorgensen. Hunter licks.

OLB first back up I am fine with Frazier he played decent against Washington.

I could totally get behind a move like that unless said QB had the best locker room/leadership intangibles this side of Derek Fisher. I'm talking about the type of kid who could set records for upper discussions taught in a month.

I'm not impressed with any of them outside of Pendleton, but I like Hunter the best in the middle. I'd like to see what Van Noy can do. Wouldn't hurt much.
