I don't believe that is correct.Originally posted by Superdeluxe View PostNo P12 football games on ESPNU.
One of the many strokes of genius of the deal is that it doesn't wed us to any single family of networks. The rights are basically split between three separate entities: ESPN, which will show games on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPNU; and Fox, which will show football games on the Fox broadcast network and FX, and basketball games on FSN. The third entity is the Pac-12 Network, which will consist of both a TV and a digital component, and be wholly owned by the Pac-12."It's devastating, because we lost to a team that's not even in the Pac-12. I'm just thrilled so many games will be on TV. And I am pretty sick of both sides trying to denigrate the other sides TV deal. Some of the stupidest, most petty things I have ever seen in rivalry smack have come up in that discussion.Originally posted by Superdeluxe View PostYou seem to be correct, I read another source that did not list ESPNU.

Crud. I was hoping Utah Fans would never get to see their teams play. How did this happen?
Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

We need only hearken back to the good-old-days of '94(?) to realize that more exposure is a good thing for both teams. That year Utah beat a highly favored and quite good Oregon team on the road 34-16, AND NOBODY SAW IT BECAUSE IT WASN'T ON TV!!! IIRC the news channels only had a couple of highlights. Stupid K-JAZZ.
Also, aren't most of the ESPN-U games available for live streaming, or is that only ESPN3?
FWIW I got the byuTV channel on my Roku the other night, and I have to say I am very highly impressed. It plays a live feed from the network, plus you can download a vast number of programs including: conference talks and devotionals, episodes from the "crafty" shows, recent games and events from most of the various sports, "classic" games ('91 win over Miami, bowl game vs smu, etc).
The quality of their programming has greatly evolved over the past decade. No longer is the programming limited to the "student newscast" and reruns of the morning aerobics show from the early '80s (featuring the native american lady with the thick, 4' long pony tail and huge boobs and the blonde dude with the porn stache, y'all know the show).

lol, excellent overview of BYUTV's programming, right down to the aerobics program.Originally posted by NorthwestUteFan View PostWe need only hearken back to the good-old-days of '94(?) to realize that more exposure is a good thing for both teams. Do you use playon.com with your Roku? I've been waiting for them to get BYUTV up and running on this, but have not seen it yet. I use a Netgear device similar to the Roku device for streaming from my computer to the TV that uses playon.com for content.Originally posted by NorthwestUteFan View PostFWIW I got the byuTV channel on my Roku the other night,

A couple of Christmases ago, my MIL bought us a Roku XR. We've tried looking for BYUtv on it and couldn't get it. Is the XR an older version of the Roku?
I really want to get BYUtv without switching over to Dish and the Roku getting BYUtv would be awesome. We have a good cable provider with great internet service right now and we wouldn't be able to find anything that matches for internet.

BYU vs Utah game on Sept 17th will be broadcast on ESPN2 starting at 7:15 MT.
I think that gives BYU the following confirmed broadcasts:
ESPN: UCF, TCU, USU
ESPN2: Utah
ESPNU:
BYUTV:
I wonder if that means the Texas game might end up on ABC?"It's devastating, because we lost to a team that's not even in the Pac-12. To lose to Utah State is horrible." - John White IV

It all depends on what games are that day. The 2nd week of the season typically has some good match ups. I am not saying it won't but ABC will have the biggest games that day. BYU/Texas could end up on Fox.Originally posted by kccougar View PostBYU vs Utah game on Sept 17th will be broadcast on ESPN2 starting at 7:15 MT.

When I first got my HD Roku, I looked for BYU TV and could only find a channel where some guy pulled BYU Devotionals (You can create your own TV and content on Roku). Are you saying that BYU TV is on Roku now? Is it in HD?
Thanks.
