Texas has treated the Utes well, I don't want to see that dry up. I would love to see a game in Texas every other year even if it is against Houston or Texas Tech.

David Reed is originally from Connecticut. Steve Savoy is form the D.C. area. The Utes have been able to find kids back east that have been able to make an impact.
I see Texas as essential. Under Kyle the coaching staff has made a very strong push into Texas and not schedulling any games in Texas or with Texas teams could hurt the inroads we have made down there.

Not sure that it's ever been confirmed.
Didn't BYU drop ASU off the schedule for the OU game in 2009? I think 2013 would be too soon to get back together after a nasty break up like that.

I do like this rumor, however: "BYU will play Ohio State home-home-neutral (Dallas, TX)"

PBW will like the fact that BYU might be playing his corn kids too.

Apparently Notre Dame is playing Arizona State at JerryWorld in 2013. I thought that was an odd ball too.

One reason Jones may like scheduling teams like BYU and ND at JerryWorld is both are private institutions and independent. Nether are subject to open record laws and, therefore, don't have to discuss how much he is paying them to play. It is rumored that BYU got about $1.5M to play OU there the last time. Not bad for a non-bowl game.

Yes BYU dropped them from the schedule to play OU at JerryWorld. And it was a no-brainer.

I assume Jerry is trying to rebound from the 2010 Cowboys Kickoff Classic disaster by returning to his 2009 success. But the 2009 game was a commercial success because Sooner fans bought all the tickets. Cougar fans didn't really represent. I don't know how he'll coax 70,000 Buckeyes down from Columbus.

Maybe he will offer autographs from the tOSU players.

As for the OU game, BYU had over 15,000 requests for its initial allotment for that game and usually sold 10,000+ tickets to the TCU games over in cowtown even when the game was expected to be ugly. It was estimated that one third of the fans at the BYU-OU game were BYU's. Not bad considering the campus is 1200+ miles away instead of a few hours up I-35.

I think the 2011 Cowboy Classic is rebounding quite nicely.

ASU as a roadie season opener? Ugh. That isn't a fun trip, unless you like melting.

Totally. We needed a gimme to open the season and get the ball rolling.

LOL! Were you at the game? That article ran before the game. The week-before-the-game estimates were that BYU would have 1/3 of the fans. I think post-game estimates were 8-to-1 or something.

Like I said above, it turned out that the Cougars on the field represented a lot better than their fans did.

Yes, that is the hottest ticket in town right now. Standing-room only tickets are now as much as $200 on stubhub.

If your son can't make it please let me know.
