If that's the case, I'm still The Greatest. Hell, that puts me on ESPN Classic more than BYU has ever been.

            Then good-bye BYU.

Utah will not play USU and BYU every season.

            Take that to the bank.

Maybe off topic, but how much power does Utah, Utah St., or BYU weld in the state legislature? I once thought the legislature had enough power to keep Utah and BYU in the same conference. Do they have enough power to force Utah and Utah St. to play every year?

I agree that Utah does not have a self-interest in playing Utah St. every year. However, I think there would be too much fallout if Utah ended the Utah-BYU rivalry. Nevertheless, playing a 9-game PAC-12 schedule will provide Utah the regional exposure it needs. What other major programs in the West will Utah want to schedule to help in recruiting? They already will be playing them.

Now I can see Utah wanting to play a midwest or eastern power to garner more national exposure or a major team in Texas to help with recruiting. But leaving BYU on the schedule is probably a good thing for the Utes. Will they be able to schedule someone better? BYU-Utah will be at least on regional TV if not national TV (plus there's now the ESPN factor with BYU). I think it would be a win-win for both schools.

Why limit it to just the west? I'm sure Utah would like to get into Florida or the South like everyone else. Before you laugh, Sonny Lubbick built his solid CSU program in the 90's with a nice haul of Florida recruits.

You mentioned Texas. I'd gladly give up an in-state game for some games down in Texas. Utah has ventured out of conference to play ND, Michigan and others recently. I'd sure like to see that trend continue.

Bottom line, it's hard to do all that if you only have 1 OOC game available to schedule.

I agree with this. I don't want the Utes to limit themselves to just the west. I would love to see them play in the east/south on an annual basis. Texas especially.

Texas has treated the Utes well, I don't want to see that dry up. I would love to see a game in Texas every other year even if it is against Houston or Texas Tech.

David Reed is originally from Connecticut. Steve Savoy is form the D.C. area. The Utes have been able to find kids back east that have been able to make an impact.

                    Utes should have gone independent.

We will take the comfort of the Pac-12 thanks.

BO said they'd never play in Logan again. I think that's crazy. I'm not saying they will play every year.
But I do think USU has enough pull to have the legislature force them to play in Logan occasionally, if they had to be forced. I think it's a good idea to play them anyway.

Or just quit playing USU and BYU every year...

Not sure that it's ever been confirmed.

Home opener at ASU definitely had to be a dream.
