I guess I'm just unaware of the many other offers available to us.
Oh..almost forgot...the Big East.
Maybe we will have to lighten up on the "exposure" thing on BYUtv. I think the smoke was to thick to not think something was going on.
Yes, I think BYU spins and clouds the truth when talking to the press and fans. Not that others don't, but one of our principles isn't to be above that kind of stuff.
Why did you cross out the Big 12? Do you work closely with (or maybe you ARE!) Tom Holmoe?
At least you kept Serie A on the list... That has potential.
So LiveCoug are you still pretending Indy>BigEast? I know you want Big 12 but the admin has sufficiently screwed the pooch on that one, if Big East is the only option we should have jumped on it and maybe we still can.

Wait, you work with (or maybe you ARE!) Tom Holmoe as well? You know for a fact that the Big 12 is dead?
As to your question, yes, indy (as crappy as it is) is still significantly better than the Big East.
Once the Big 12 is 100% out of the picture (which, IMO, it is most definitely not out of the picture), then I will deal with Indy. And no, I do not want to move back to the MWC, WAC, Sun Belt etc...

I know you want Big 12 but the admin and coaches has sufficiently screwed the pooch on Riley Nelson ever being allowed to play another down, Brock Zylstra having a scholarship, and that one , if Big East is the only option we should have jumped on it and maybe we still can.

Big East is far worse than Indy because the Big East is a total lemon and it would be infinitely harder to better our affiliation once we had become entangled in that charlie-foxtrot (thanks, Napper) of a conference.

If Big 12 isn't an option than the ability to get a better affiliation won't matter too much.
I'd much rather be playing Boise St/Houston/Navy/Cincy/Rutgers/SDSU/UCF/SMU/etc in November for a chance to go a conf championship game and a BCS game than playing the bottom of the WAC in November for the chance for Bronco to say we had another hollow 10 win season against the little sisters of the poor.

I am amazed that this is still an active debate topic. There are people that would rather be playing Big East football?

You want to be locked into playing Cincinnati, Rutgers, and the others every year for the foreseeable future? At least with Independence we have the possibility of upgrading the schedule over time. The only benefits of the Big East are basketball (which they don't want us for) and the current BCS affiliation (which is likely to be lost in whatever new system emerges).
Additionally, if a Big 12 or even PAC invite were to come to fruition somehow, it would be a lot easier to get there from Independence than from a Big East that would surely have tired of losing its members.

Amen.
