Didn't Army or Navy already back out of a deal to play BYU a year or two ago? Why would they want to now and not then?

Now I'm starting to wonder just how "wonderful" this idea of independence really is. I understand that at this stage, it is hard to update 2011 schedule without major concessions. But my biggest worry is that we are going to end up with 4 or 5 home games and 8 away games. If that is the case, we are looking at the "lower" end of the ESPN deal.

I didn't think that BYU allowed the type of activities that guys moniker suggests.

That's bullshit. If it's this hard to schedule as an independent, then that's your due diligence and you decide not to go independent.

Good hell, if we go 2fer1 with Wisconsin, we are screwed. Every BCS school is now going to demand a 2fer... AWFUL.

Then we end up with three solid BCS schools and three non D1A (I refuse to say FBS or FCS whatever the hell it is) schools to make up the difference.

For 2011 you're probably right. For 2014? There are more teams with open dates so we will have more choices. I'm amazed that you haven't jumped off that bridge yet, Live. Hang in there.

                    • BYUdeepthrowt (ugh) is hinting that BYU's talking to Michigan about a future series.

Spent lots of time today on phone w/school we were keeping quiet till Bronco mentioned specifically in interview. Scheduling is a real maize.

                      • And some dude on CB is claiming that BYU is doing a home and home with UNC (hi Pellegrino!) in 2011 and 2012. 2011 game will be in Chapel Hill.

I hope it is the other way around. I could be living in NC for the 2012 season.

                          • FWIW - Jay Drew said in his blog that the schedule is basically done fo 2011 and will be announced shortly once all the contracts are signed. He said the BSU series is scheduled to start in 2012 in Boise.

Is this for BYU or Utah?
