My take away is that we have a lot of work to do, but beat what I think will be a very good team this year. We came up big when it mattered in spite of mistakes. I would be curious to know what Wynn did to his hand. It didn't look like much but he wasn't the same after. I would like to see him be more decisive. Fortunately we have UNLV to get well against next week.

Your line is good. Pitt did not come prepared and had a lot of chances to win and didn't. Missed FG, the INT, too many trips inside the 20 only coming away with FGs. To Utahs credit, they made plays when they needed to and got the win, especially in OT.

I think a few of those screen passes he missed could have gone for big yards and kept the momentum from swinging in the 4th quarter. He didn't do terrible by any stretch, but not all that great either.

Jerome Brooks will be a nightmare match-up for everyone we play this year. As Drum was saying to me, it is nice to see Christopher coming into his own. That is a kid that came within a whisker of transferring. I also agree that more Asiata and Wide earlier would have been better. 36 pass attempts in a game where the other team has the ball for 35 minutes is a lot.

Utah will be a pretty good team come November. That I am sure of. Pitt needs to fire Wannstedt. Horrible play calling all night. I don't think they ran play action until their last TD drive. Their QB sucks. And their front 7 was not impressive. Their front 4 got no push aside from the blitzes they called.

I am excited to see this team in a few weeks against Iowa State on the road. Not a great team, but it will be nice to compare the performance and execution tonight with that game.

That's the effect of good coaching and turnover in a mid tier program.
