Lewis will be an NFL back. He is bigger than MJD when MJD was in college.

I agree it was a huge hit, but Brilliant Bob Davie kept chirping about it being a dirty hit. He was just going hard at the play. He jumped to make the hit and the Hawaii guy leaned down to juke. Not a dirty play, just unfortunate.Originally posted by Flystripper View PostI didn't think that hit was dirty. The QB was running for the end zone 10 yards down the field and was not going to slide. He is a running back at that point and as long as no facemask is grabbed you can hit him however you want. It wasn't like he was an unprotected receiver.
The important thing is that the USC defense is no joke, Monte Kiffin is coaching them! Watch out P10!Get confident, stupid

As soon as I got home from the game, our baby woke up, so I re-watched the majority of it.Originally posted by mpfunk View PostI agree with this assessment of Wynn tonight. I also think the coaching staff put too much responsibility on him. We need to rely more on on running game.
Is it my imagination, or his release much quicker this year? When he decides to throw, he really gets it out in a hurry.

Sincere question for Utah fans: Does this game really answer your secondary concerns? Did Burton really handle Baldwin or was that just not the quarterback to expose him? I wasn't watching that matchup closely, but I can recall one play where Baldwin had him beat and Sunseri just badly underthrew him. I have no idea if Burton was expecting safety help on the other one, but either way, that's a concern, right (but maybe the kind that will be fixed as we get into the season). If you just look at the point where Pitt started throwing the ball, they were moving it pretty well, and I'm still not sold on that quarterback (based on the INT in OT alone, which was just not only badly thrown, but stupidly timed). I'm not quite ready to call this a solid pass defense, but really, I don't follow you enough to know, so I'm sincerely asking what you think.
Your front 7 seem solid. I don't think anyone's going to run on you. Even before you started stacking the box, they weren't getting anything.
Did we ever have a chance at Latu Heimuli? I remember hearing his name a lot, but I don't remember if we were ever in the mix.At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

Pitt does not exactly put a ton of pressure on the secondary but I think they did pretty will with the exception of the one mental mistake by Burton.Originally posted by ERCougar View PostSincere question for Utah fans: Does this game really answer your secondary concerns? The other concern I might have with Burton is the same problem we have with Logan. The guy looks little (of course, a 6-5 receiver may do that to you). If he is, a good QB could abuse him.Originally posted by Flystripper View PostPitt does not exactly put a ton of pressure on the secondary but I think they did pretty will with the exception of the one mental mistake by Burton.

I'm far more concerned about Lamar Chapman at this point. I think Burton will be fine and won't go up against that many big receivers. Pitt took advantage of Shanhan's size and threw that inside slant all night. I think they could've scored on their final drive if they kept going to him.Originally posted by ERCougar View PostSincere question for Utah fans: Does this game really answer your secondary concerns? The safeties seemed to play well with Taplin Ross having some feast or famine type hits.
So, it doesn't answer the secondary concerns, but the push up front makes me feel good about our opponents inability to get the ball out cleanly to make those big plays down the field."They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.
