Really? I could have sworn it was against the rules to hit someone with a forarm to the head."I don't mind giving the church 10% of my earnings, but 50% of my weekend mornings? Not as long as DirecTV NFL Sunday Ticket is around." - Daniel Tosh

Come on funk, you are saying he is better than Mark Ingram, Trent Richardson, LaMichael James, Noel Divine, and Ryan Williams?Originally posted by mpfunk View PostIt really doesn't matter if Dion Lewis is really an NFL player or not, he is the best RB in college football and the Utes did a great job stopping him."I don't mind giving the church 10% of my earnings, but 50% of my weekend mornings? It is hard to tell at this time of year, but he is a serious Heisman contender and only three other players in history has rushed for more yards as freshman. So it is not silly to say he is one of the best. He is head and shoulders better than anyone else Utah or BYU will see this year unless one of us gets one of the other top guys in a bowl game (Oregon or Oregon State being the most likely scenarios).Originally posted by Flystripper View PostAwesome.

I don't know about better, but none of those guys had a better year statistically than he did last year. He certainly belongs in that group. The 75 yards he got last night were a career low and boy did they feed it to him. It is a nice feather in our defense's cap no matter how you cut it.Originally posted by ewth8tr View PostCome on funk, you are saying he is better than Mark Ingram, Trent Richardson, LaMichael James, Noel Divine, and Ryan Williams?

Sellwood is too damn slow. All last year he would take forever to get the ball off. He shanked that last one because he was overcompensating for being too damn to punt.Originally posted by BoylenOver View Post
Sean Sellwood had a nightmare of a game. Get the punt blocked that wasn't even close, then shank another one in a very crucial point of the game."Be a philosopher. Slow is one problem, but the total lack of field awareness is a bigger one. I can't imagine anyone is telling him to just go through his motion and don't worry about what is coming at him. On that blocked punt he had no chance, that part is not his fault, but failing to recognize that he had no chance is. You have to look up and at a minimum just go down.Originally posted by Mormon Red Death View PostSellwood is too damn slow. All last year he would take forever to get the ball off. Hey I have been defending him this morning, but I don't think he is the best back in the country. Um...I'm not sure that video makes your point very well.Originally posted by Flystripper View PostAt least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

how so? The LB hit him hard and he went down. He was not an unprotected or QB. He was 15 yards down field and a running back at that point. If and when Nelson gets hit like that this year while running the ball I would not think it was dirty. Sure the hit was high, but the helmet to helmet stuff does not apply in that situation. It was a very hard hit but not dirty.Originally posted by ERCougar View PostUm...I'm not sure that video makes your point very well.
Edit: As I look at it again it wasn't even helmet to helmet. The the right shoulder of the LB hit the QB's helmet. The LB over ran the play slightly and the QB didn't quite finish his cutback.Last edited by Flystripper; 09-03-2010, 09:11 AM.Dyslexics are teople poo...

Why doesn't helmet-to-helmet apply? If not a helmet, it's at least a forearm shiver to the head. Hard hits are fine if it's not directed to the head.Originally posted by Flystripper View Posthow so? I'm not saying you're wrong, because apparently the refs agreed with you and they were right there. But as a completely neutral observer without ties either way, I thought the hit looked dirty from the video. At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

You are right, I guess what is more accurate to say is he is a legitimate Heisman candidate (well until we shut him down) and he is the best RB that Utah faces all year, by far. He is also in the argument with all of those guys for best RB in the country. Dion Lewis was amazing last year and his stats from last year are pretty much on par with all of those players you mentioned.Originally posted by ewth8tr View PostCome on funk, you are saying he is better than Mark Ingram, Trent Richardson, LaMichael James, Noel Divine, and Ryan Williams? As I lead this army, make room for mistakes and depression

I thought foreamrs to the head are illegal. The LB/safety's arms weren't open to grasp, they were closed. It looked to me like he put his right forearm into the guy's head. I don't think it was dirty, meaning that he had intent to injure, but it did look illegal to me, even if it resulted from the LB aiming high and the QB diving low. But I could be wrong. ANd the refs didnt call it and they were right there.Originally posted by Flystripper View Posthow so? The LB hit him hard and he went down. He was not an unprotected or QB. Look at it again and watch all the angles. The LB overran the play. The incidental forearm was an attempt to grab the QB after the shoulder had already hit him. The last replay was the best.Originally posted by ERCougar View PostWhy doesn't helmet-to-helmet apply? If not a helmet, it's at least a forearm shiver to the head.
