Respectfully, B10 as a conference is grossly overrated. Usually 2-3 really good teams and 13-14 coattails riders.

Hopefully he can handle the B10 schedule of Rutgers, Minnesota, Illinois, northwestern, Nebraska, UCLA and whatever cupcakes are in that conferenceOriginally posted by dabrockster View Post
Anyone would’ve been an upgrade. But KW has no idea what a Big 10 schedule is like. It is punishing. And everyone will be gunning for them. Kick them while they are down.
This feels like a Rich Rod kinda hire. He was amazing at WV. Then got pounded at Michigan.

Over the last 5-years in head to head against SEC Big Ten is 4-1. Last year’s results where the Big Ten went 11-4. I’d say they are not some puff-cake conference like the PAC12 was where KW made his name.
Individual Bowl Results (Big Ten teams)
Wins- Penn State 38, SMU 10 — First Round of College Football Playoff.
- Ohio State 42, Tennessee 17 — CFP First Round.
- Penn State 31, Boise State 14 — Fiesta Bowl (CFP Quarterfinal).
- Ohio State 41, Oregon 21 — Rose Bowl (CFP Quarterfinal).
- Michigan 19, Alabama (ReliaQuest Bowl) — Bowl win.
- Illinois 21, South Carolina 17 (Citrus Bowl) — Bowl win.
- Nebraska 20, Boston College 15 (Pinstripe Bowl) — Bowl win.
- Minnesota 24, Virginia Tech 10 (Duke’s Mayo Bowl) — Bowl win.
- USC 35, Texas A&M 31 (Las Vegas Bowl
- Ohio State 28, Texas (CFP Semifinal — Cotton Bowl) — Win.
- Ohio State 34, Notre Dame 23 (CFP National Championship) — National Championship win.
Losses- Notre Dame 27, Indiana 17 — CFP First Round loss (counts against Big Ten).
- Rutgers 41, Kansas State 44 (Rate Bowl) — Loss

Bowl results outside of the CFP are meaningless. The Big10 is overrated. Everyone knows that."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. It will be interesting to see how many voters if any leave Notre Dame off their final ballot.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View Postit'd be nice if BYU ends up in the final top ten. They should, at the very least, jump the gutless and spineless chicken (an anatomical oddity, to be sure), Notre Dame. I expect 'Bama and Miami to lose their next games, so the Cougars could move up as many as three spots.

That isn't necessity on the position coach itself, is it? Unless the DL is the weak link in an otherwise good defense. I'm not saying it would be a good hire, but not is he personally responsible for that? Seems like Lincoln has never had a decent defense.Originally posted by BigPiney View PostWith the athletes that USC has, they are only 48th in total defense. That is not very good.

not great. I do think O line is one of the areas B10 schools are strong on as a general rule, but nothing makes him a dynamite hire.Jesus wants me for a sunbeam.
