Yeah I tried to hedge and say it's fine. Especially with your QB2 who needs some real snaps. But I have just learned I prefer a coach who doesnt need to throw for one more TD in a blowout that late. I am an old softie I guess.

Foster was that bad but also Penn State is not a top 10 team like everyone seems to think. Add to that list Texas. So far Arch Manning is a flashier Chris Simms.

That’s exactly the comp I made for Arch the other day in a conversation. When Arch was out for a play on the last drive because his helmet came off, and the back-up QB hit that quick, decisive throw for the first down, I had to wonder how many Texas fans were wishing the back-up would stay in the game.

Penn State now has two losses, one of them to perhaps the worst P4 team. They are not a top 25 team, but I imagine somehow they will find themselves in the 18-20 range tomorrow, ahead of some undefeated teams and dozens of 1-loss teams.

Meanwhile, Utah rode a big victory over the worst P4 team to a top 15 ranking, before being exposed. Their loss to a legit top 10 caliber team sent them out of the top 25 altogether. Probably rightfully so, but if that’s the case, then do the same with PSU. I hate the double standard afforded to blue blood programs.

In short, if a presidential candidate were to run on a platform of no cfb polls until week 8, that might be enough to win my vote.

Agree completely. Penn State and Texas have a combined zero wins over P4 opponents and only a combined 4 wins over FBS opponents. They should both be unranked until they actually accomplish something. The counter argument would he polls dont matter in the playoff era but they clearly do. Well kudos to the AP for dropping both Texas and Penn State from the rankings. The coaches were the dumb ones keeping them in. Big 12 still has 4 ranked teams even after Iowa State losing. Cincinnati and Utah are knocking on the door of the top 25.
