It's wild how nobody can stomach coming off the bench. I get it with basketball, injuries are much less frequent. Football makes much less sense, especially at as violent a position as LB. You're #2, you're going to see significant reps all season.

Didn't our 2 deep on defense get plenty of reps this past season? At times I thought we played our youngsters a little too much in some critical moments in games. It is what it is.

Legend Glasker committed. Athletic reciever out of Lehi. Isaiah is his cousin.

Hopefully he can play ball too. I'd have offered him based on the name alone.

My totally ill informed opinion of these situations are thus:

Keelon Marion is being offered money that BYU will not offer him. I get the feeling that while BYU NIL is likely good I think it is more egalitarian than the basketball approach. My guess is some programs are throwing money at individuals that fill key needs- Keelon Marion has a niche capacity at a high level-kick returner, and my guess is wealthy programs are willing to spend for that role.

My guess is Taggart was informed that the coaches think Esera is either as good or better at MLB than he is and Taggart's tender feel feels got hurt and he feels jaded.

I will be as happy for him if he goes to Utah or anywhere else. I wish him well but will likely not pay much attention either way. I wish he would stay and I would recommend to him that he stay but my guess is ego is driving this decision and of the two I think it is more likely he returns if BYU will have him. I think his reaction is emotional while I think Marion's is financial.

Not bagging on Keelon; I love that guy, but mostly as a receiver. As a kick returner he was either bang or bust; either a TD or tackled inside the 20. Rarely anything in between. Am I just having selective memory?

I'll be sad to see him go. I heard he's form ATL. Can't fault him for taking more money and playing closer to home.
              Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

He is from Georgia. I'll miss having that kind of threat as a kick returner. If changes the way opponents play special teams. He was an All-American.

Marion scored 8 TDs in his two years at BYU – two returned kicks, one receiving TD and five (5!!!) rushing TDs on goal line Jet Sweeps.

Would I have preferred he stay at BYU? Yes. Is he a good player? Yes. Is losing him a 'massive blow'? I just don't see it, no.

Thanks for the kick return against Utah. Good luck wherever you end up. But not a player you have to break the bank for. IMO.

I’m not sure we have a good complementary WR for Roberts. I’m ready to give Phillips a chance and to see what Kingston can do in the slot, however.

I saw some hype on Hagen recently.

Yep. Could be a breakout season for a couple of guys.

                          Keelan Marion to the U.

The real U. Not the dumb one.

I have no idea who this is, but welcome! I am sure you will make a great addition to the U. Good thing you didn't choose Miami! Yuck!
