Just over lunch my Ute coworker was saying 100% Sitake is gone. I put it at 25% him leaving. They could not fathom why "anyone" would want to stay at BYU, lol.
Ask them why Kyle didn't take the Tennessee job
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Love this shot of Kalani telling the team he's staying. Dude has the love and respect of his players [TWEET]https://x.com/JackDamuni/status/1996...6488874/[TWEET]

I think the Penn State job is a good one -- other than the fact they just fired a guy who went 10-3 last year. The problem was Penn State was becoming a punchline with respect to never winning a big game. I think would have been a terrible fit for Kalani. But I think there's room for success in the Big Ten which I view as a huge step down competition-wise from the SEC. IMO, the Big Ten is much closer to the Big 12 talent-wise than the SEC. Michigan doesn't have Harbaugh anymore and then you're left with Ohio State. I don't want to say it's like 1990s FSU playing in the ACC, the Big Ten is better than that, but if you ranked the top 10 teams between the SEC and Big Ten, the SEC would have at least 7 of them.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”
Other than offending delicate ute fans, what on earth is the problem with donors/alumni supporting BYU sports at a level commensurate with other big programs?
Thank you for confirming that this bothers you. I will make sure to avoid this topic of discussion going forward.
This is why its really dumb to get too excited about recruiting. Under today's NIL hellscape, nobody is signed until they are truly signed, and even then they are only locked in for a year. IF they flop, they will probably enter the portal. If they kill it, they will probably demand more money and/or enter the portal.

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock
Does the Ryder Lyons thing worry anyone? Not sure if this means anything.
I'll worry until the signature is in. Then I'll worry until he is back on campus.
In the meantime, Will Snowden, who apparently works with Ryder as part of a recruiting agency, says to BYU fans that they can relax-- just ironing out a few details in a contract. Which sounds a lot like what Penn State was told, so take that for what it's worth.
