Dude, that is some serious wishful thinking on your part that this will lead to the demise of BYUs program. I know that is what you are hoping for how many athletic departments have you ran in your lifetime? I am glad that you and your fellow ute fans know what is best for BYU.
Did you notice that nobody talked about the MWC being dead when Utah left, the MWC added a better program in Boise and moved on. However Craig Thompson did everything in his power to keep BYU from leaving, I mean everything. ESPN the largest sports conglomerate in the world approached BYU about doing a deal as an independent, so obviously there is some value there.
Like I said go back in to your moms basement, open a fresh bag of cheetos and give us a nice write up on the local high school game. You obviously do not know shit about anything else.

So how likely is a Big12 invite? It sounds like most byu fans are confident the invite is right around the corner but what is preventing the Big12 from inviting byu right now?
I don't understand why they need to wait until NU and CU leave in order to invite byu right now.
I think it has to do with a small outstanding debt but I could be wrong.

Where is the choice for "I think this is hilarious"?

No mom's basement tonight. A PT Cruiser bearing the "910 KDSH, Witchita's Sports Explosion, Your Exclusive Home for Wingnut baseball" vinyl wrap has Top Ute's name written all over it. Tonight it's pimping the grand opening of new Chili's just off I-35.
Chili's grand opening promos today. Maybe a move up to being the Gordon Monson for the AA baseball team in another few years.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”
I think it has to do with a small outstanding debt but I could be wrong.
Are you saying that there is a mechanic's lien on BYU?

One thing aI hadn't thought of before today - The Big East. They only have 8 teams and 7 conference games. They need 5 OOC games per team. I bet we see 2 BE teams next year - and every year we remain independent - one home & one away. ESPN will sweeten the deal to make it happen.
Week 1 - AFA (or other MWC)
Week 2 - Big East I - (ESPN)
Week 3 - BSU (or other WAC)
Week 4 - Big 12 (ESPN)
Week 5 - USU
Week 6 - Army
Week 8 - PAC-12 (ESPN)
Week 9 - Navy
Week 10 - Big East II (ESPN)
Week 11 - Notre Dame (announced this week!?)
Week 12 - TCU (other MWC)
Week 13 - Utah
Week 14 - Hawaii (ESPN - after Championship games)
(13 games for years we play at Hawaii)
yes, probably a couple of those games are going to be on Thursday nights. But we'll be getting paid for them, as will our opponents...
I think we could reasonably get annaul games with Utah, USU, ND (maybe not reasonable, but HOPEFUL), Navy, Army, AFA & Hawaii. Fill out with 2 Big east games, and a game each from the PAC 12 & Big 12. And if you want to drop some of the harder games maybe either TCU or BSU, but not both), SDSU & UNLV (would both sign up for an annual deal in a second...
With ESPN wanting to schedule good games that people will actually watch, if anything I'm worried about the schedule being too hard...
You're absolutely entitled to that opinion as we don't know how this will all turn out but I will kindly disagree with your opinion however. (I've gathered you find it to be a mistake based on your apparent laughter) I think I have a reasonable expectation that something better comes of this but I can see why the casual observer might find it at the very least, "odd".
BTW, I haven't been back to uf.n in a while so I sure hope you're not being a zoot over there because you were one of the few that seemed reasonable. That place needs a few more posters willing to get their hands dirty. Maybe then a few more voices of opposition would stick around long enough to enjoy the sports discussions that occasionally break out. Not saying the myriad of zoobs that post-and-run don't deserve a good drubbing but it seems that the board would have a lot more posters if they didn't run-off so many so quickly.

The MWC with byu is just the WAC part II. Just like it will be without byu. Why not stick around and get outclassed by Boise and TCU?
Truth hurts, doesn't it? But I bet you feel good for being able to use such naughty language.
I'd be displacing my anger on others if my school made such a lateral move.
Wait until we see the 2011 schedule and then I'll tell you if it was lateral. BYU will make way more money - that's for certain. If ESPN comes through on 4 or 5 games that are at least decent, their schedule will be way better. I don't see how that's lateral.

Well it couldnt be an upgrade becasue then how could it lead to the DEMISE OF BYU SPORTS PROGRAMS? Right Top Ute?
