That makes a ton of sense.

Now, it is a home-and-home arrangement with Nebraska traveling to Eugene next season. I don't think that is going to change anytime soon. If Washington's recent resurgence becomes longer term, Oregon will have a challenge competing with the Huskies and Stanford. But I think Oregon has the program and facilities to be considered a national brand. I do hope the Ducks win a national title, they have come so close.
Now the standard for national brand is if you schedule a home-home with Nebraska?

All things are measured against Nebraska.

            • I am in favor of whatever brings down Oregon ticket prices. If the Taggart hiring means it isn't a national elite team, then hopefully the prices will follow. Otherwise, I am one and done. The tickets were obscene last year.

Perhaps kids are realizing that they can get cool Nike gear and have a nice dressing room at other places than Oregon. I'm not sure how many 4 and 5 star kids come out of Oregon so you better have something to get them away from sunny SoCal.

That is not accurate at all. Decades ago, Oregon was scheduled like TCU, New Mexico, and Utah/Utah St. Now they are scheduled like UCLA, USC, and Washington have always been: home-an-home. Nebraska was able to schedule a certain team to open last season at home without a return visit. Similar to what they have scheduled with Northern Illinois, Idaho, and Arkansas St. They have home-and-home against UCLA, Miami, Oregon, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. To be honest, that says more about BYU than Nebraska.

I like PBW: we share a distaste for BYU.

No doubt. I need to get up there again. It has been over 4 years since I ate there, I believe.

I hope Taggart works out for Oregon. The Ducks have a decent OOC schedule so he might not have an easy learning curve. Southern Utah was respectable against BYU this year, Nebraska should be competitive, and that trip to Laramie is usually not an easy one.
