Well... you're my insider so I'll have to go with what you say. I defer to you on all things Duck, and support you 100%.

They should hire Sark - so they can fire him after 1 year and hire Kelley this time next year.

    • Harsin interviewed with Oregon which surprises me a little. If BSU could have run the table, maybe but losses to Wyoming and Air Force with the most talented team they've had in year can't excite the Oregon crowd. I would think they would go after a bigger name.

      • Chip might want to consider going back to college before the 49ers dumpster fire completely ruins his reputation.

Today the 49ers QBs combined to go 5-15 for 39 yards against the Bears. Perhaps that would be acceptable of it were the 85 Bears, but not the shitty 2016 Bears. They lost by 20 against a team that had to start Matt Barkley at QB.

Many are placing most the blame on Trent Baalke, the guy who never resigns his own players and accumulates picks just so he can stockpile a bunch of guys with torn ACLs that don't count as a roster spot. The guys he picks that aren't injured contribute about as much as the guys with the blown out knees. Baalke's made the worst picks in the draft for years, that obviously predates Kelly. On top of that, this idiot thought it was okay to start the season with Blain Gabbert and Kaepernick as his QBs. The receiving corps would probably be outplayed by BYU's. In other words, Kelly didn't have a chance.

Things won't turn around soon. After Sterling was forced out of the NBA, the Yorks became the undisputed worst owners in sports. They chose Trent Baalke over Jim Harbaugh, they're stupid. But their stupidity may be outweighed by their cheapness.

If Oregon wants him, Kelly should get the hell out Santa Clara.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Chip has been Matt Barkley's bitch for like 5 years now.

                • Also, somebody help me understand why Rhule turned down the Oregon job for Baylor.

Who has ever called Oregon a dynasty? I'm excited for Taggart after reading about him the last couple of days. However, it shows a real point that Oregon isn't and may never be a true national player. Oregon is an underdog and needs to embrace that role, I see Taggart doing that. Hopefully he does it well.

I'm unsure if that is true, going to lunch with my contact in the AD tomorrow and will find out. The truth though is that Oregon isn't a national brand anymore and winning in the Big 12 is much easier than winning in the P12 right now.

I'm not convinced that Oregon is no longer a national brand. There was a time when Oregon could only schedule Nebraska in Lincoln: two visits in the 1970s and two more in the 1980s. Now, it is a home-and-home arrangement with Nebraska traveling to Eugene next season. I don't think that is going to change anytime soon. If Washington's recent resurgence becomes longer term, Oregon will have a challenge competing with the Huskies and Stanford. But I think Oregon has the program and facilities to be considered a national brand. I do hope the Ducks win a national title, they have come so close.

One down season doesn't change it from National to Regional. The only caveat is that Oregon is almost seen as Nike's shadow, but Nike is worldwide, so Oregon is viewed as Nike's less attractive stepsister.

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

That says as much about Nebraska as it does about Oregon, to be honest. Nebraska is maybe half of what it was in the 70s and 80s.
