I think this speaks to the country's high expectations of Oregon. For an entire season, Oregon scored at will and put up hundreds of points on the board. Auburn also scored a lot of points, but was known more for its defense. I think America was more shocked by the lack of Oregon's offense than it was by the lack of Auburn offense.
I wonder what this means for Oregon next season. What changes are made, if any, to get over the hump.
