I went to bed. Not sure I missed much. They really need to fix the bowl system. The long layoffs really mess up offenses. That game wasn't much to look at as someone with no vested interest in either team. I didn't watch the second half but it sounds like and from the highlights I saw that Chip insisted to try and run the ball. Auburn's weakness was their secondary and when they were tested they gave up plays especially outside. That quick out was good for 10 yards a pop. Sorry HFN I really wanted your Ducks to win. Your seats were sick. I hope you and the fam had a great time regardless. I look forward to your pics.

I think this speaks to the country's high expectations of Oregon. For an entire season, Oregon scored at will and put up hundreds of points on the board. Auburn also scored a lot of points, but was known more for its defense. I think America was more shocked by the lack of Oregon's offense than it was by the lack of Auburn offense.

I wonder what this means for Oregon next season. What changes are made, if any, to get over the hump.

I've only seen Auburn play 3 or 4 times this year, but based on my limited exposure I would say Nick Fairly was the MVP of that team not Cam Newton.

every time the camera would pan to him, I would think, "ok, this kid looks overweight, he looks tired, he is a mouth breather with a dumb expression on his face.....he is starting to burn out."

Then on the very next play he would do something awesome.

Nick Fairley is one of the best, if not the best, defensive players in the country. He is an incredible talent. He also is the dirtiest player in college football.

I don't get it either. Chip's stubbornness cost him the game. The run was getting stuffed all night, and Thomas' decision making with the option wasn't very good. A couple of plays he pulled the ball out of LMJ's arms for a loss for what likely would have been a sizable gain. Plus the O-Line was getting pushed back disrupting all of their cute plays underneath like their screens and shovel passes. I would have gone max protect and kept going Air Maehl.

I listened on the radio on the way home and one of the radio commentators said Oregon was making a mistake by "using only about 15 yards of a field that is 53 yards wide."

The radio guys were oozing admiration and love for the SEC throughout the broadcast. It was quite noticeable. And you would have thought Auburn was beating up on Oregon, to hear these guys talk. Looked like a game decided on the last play to me. Oregon's team should be holding their heads high.

The spearing of the Georgia QB was really egregious and extremely dangerous. Putting a helmet on a players spine is a good way to paralyze someone.

The game was an amazing experience, the boys had a great time and the atmosphere was unlike anything I have ever been in before.

I think the game changed for Oregon on 3 plays.

1. I love Chip, but you have to kick that FG. You can not chase points, had that been in the 4th quarter perhaps I feel differently but not in the middle of the 3rd.

2. Mark Asper holds/tackles an Auburn player on a Thomas run that was about 25 yards. An unneeded block/tackle that brought the ball back and caused a punt. Thomas run would have put Oregon in at least FG range.

3. The illegal formation penalty after Auburn went for and didn't get it on 4th down. Thomas completed a screen pass to Barner that moved us 3-5 yards away from the goal line and would have at least given us a punt. Instead the penalty moves Oregon to the goal line and LMJ gets tackled in the end zone.

Fairley was amazing, Oregon had handled Paea and Jurel Casey this season and neither is in near the same league as 90. Wow.

Thomas played a pretty good game, 27-40 360 2/2. A sophomore first year starter, he made 2 bad throws that got picked. I am really excited by the thought of him running the offense for the next two years.

Watching the game last night drove home something that is a total joke, grass needs to be gone from football. There is no reason to play on an inferior surface. Auburn and Oregon were slipping all over the place. I used to be a grass is the "real thing, true and living surface" believer. No more. To stick to with a lesser product is silly.

Oregon should be a large favorite to win the first P12 title. Chip needs to close the deal on a few of these big recruits and maybe one day we get another crack at it. It was one of the greatest days of my life, when Maehl caught that 2 point conversion the place erupted and HFN Jr. jumped into my arms. A moment that I will carry with me forever.

Awesome HFN! I totally thought of you when he caught that 2 point conversion. I am glad you had a great time. It was a fantastic game. Some people were disappointed in the lack of offensive fireworks but I thought it had everything you want in a big time match up. Oregon showed well.
