If I had to put a confidence pick this would be second to last (SDSU would have the least confidence). Another game I was wavering on was Hawaii at Colorado. Colorado sucks but I'm not sold on Hawaii especially with the air travel.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostSomething just doesn't feel right to me about that game. I like the dominant defense fielded by the BCS school over the dominant offense fielded by the non-BCS school. Nevada's offense takes a huge step down when facing BCS conference opponents (0-5 SU, only scoring over 20 points once the last two years), while it almost always puts up huge numbers against teams from the WAC, MWC, etc.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostSomething just doesn't feel right to me about that game. But you're right about Cal's tendency to slip up against inferior teams. My memory is that Cal's fade comes a little later in the season. I think Cal's fine in this one.

Just heard something interesting. In Urban Meyer's Career (Bowling Green, Utah and Florida) His teams are 35-5 against the spread vs non conference opponents."Be a philosopher. Urban was a walking, living, breathing ATM for Ute backers in SLC with a career mark of 20-4 ATS. That's outright disgusting, filthy, criminal and felonious.Originally posted by Mormon Red Death View PostJust heard something interesting. Per Chad Millman on Espn.com
home teams off a blowout win by 40 or more that have a greater than .500 record. The record for that scenario is 120-58 against the spread.
There were three games that matched his scenario this week: TCU minus-21.5 over Baylor, Mizzou minus-14 over San Diego State and Iowa minus-1.5 over Arizona."Be a philosopher. I listen to them. The one he had with Alan Boston was a freaking joke. No way Alan Boston makes any money on college football. I'm willing to bet he does no better than the average square. His analysis of Utah Pittsburgh was terrible. First, Pittsburgh's program over the last 5 years is not even close to Utah's (He claimed they were a far and away better). Second, Dave Wannstedt is a coach like Norv Turner in that his teams always are at a differential from what is expected.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostDo you ever listen to the Behind The Bets podcast? Don't forget Utah -22.5. Lets hook those three for 6-1!Originally posted by BoylenOver View PostAm I missing something re: Iowa -1.5 at Arizona and Nebraska -3 at Washington? I think this is the water mark game for Arizona. They have a good enough team that they should be in or win this game at home. Does the ZonaZoo from Oregon and USC last year show up, or the team that lost to an awful Washington and didn't show up for the bowl.Originally posted by BoylenOver View PostAm I missing something re: Iowa -1.5 at Arizona and Nebraska -3 at Washington? I like Iowa, but that game is a stay away for me. Nebraska is one I can't figure out, that game seems like a printing press. I haven't felt that strong on a game since Oregon -7 @ Stanford last year, thank goodness I'm not in Vegas.Get confident, stupid

Didn't FSU open up at -6.5 against BYU? Doesn't that seem like Vegas is giving away money. The line has since moved all the way to -9.5 and that's still easy money.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

-8 points? Were you just trying to be nice to BYU fans?Originally posted by Mormon Red Death View PostIt opened at -8 and is at -10 right now.
Of course, I also have the reverse Midas Touch when it comes to gambling, so what do I know. That just seems like an awful matchup for BYU at this point.Part of it is based on academic grounds.
