No longer able to put up 2nd place banners, and probably not best time to build more P12 billboards. You got take your moral victories where you can.

They should have had their defense called and made LSU snap it immediately after the ready for play whistle in order to get a play off. I doubt LSU scores the TD if they had to do that.
called a timeout before the review in order to set his defense when they were lining to run the last play. if he doesn't call a timeout, the review never happens.

It really is strange. A 3-loss season where they won the worst P5 conference title and lost to a tOSU team that was sitting 24 scholarship players.

Now, I think UF is going to be much improved this season (Richardson looked legit), but still, this turn toward aggrandizing losses is a weird one.

On the other hand, imagine how nice it must be to have fulfillment and contentment just by showing up.

I think that is not right. I thought FSU called the timeout after the review.

I'm about 99% sure I'm right. having a hard time finding a full game video that doesn't skip parts, however.

starts at about the 3:37:45 mark - both teams line up after the play and FSU calls timeout to set their defense.

Utah & BYU have one common enemy: college football greed at the top of the mountain & social status.

                      "Social status." hmm.

Nah, I'll just leave that one where it is.

says who some Ute noob? I’m absolutely disgusted by it. It’s cute BYU won by 29.

Hmm what a coincidence for sure. BYU fans are real smart if they think what’s going on college football is good.

The way the broadcast laid it out (and I thought the ref confirmed it but that could be me making it up) FSU called timeout to challenge the ruling of getting out of bounds. If true, the correct challenge would have given him the timeout and reverted clock management to the situation directly before the timeout, which would have been wind the clock on ready for play. I thought the above happened and then FSU called another timeout after the ruling. But could be wrong. None of this changes the fact that college coaches are horrible clock managers.

agreed - ultimately it doesn't change the fact that college coaches - and hell, nfl coaches too - can be horrible clock managers.

another video here though shows the announcers definitely thought FSU had called a timeout - and on the screen they took a timeout from FSU.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."
