I agree. What about the league BYU plays mens volleyball in? Would that be possible for sports not available to the WCC or WAC?

Maybe they'll go semi-pro like the soccer team.

Do you think that is still alive? Is BYU willing to give up all hopes for a Big 12 invite to commit to such a conference? I can't imagine they'd let us join without a full commitment for several years...

Sure, men's volleyball is a separate conference, the MPSF (Mountain Pacific Sports Federation).

I'd just like to say that there is no way in hell that BYU does this independence thing without something on paper from the Big 12.

Why are people on CB talking as if ESPN is the mastemind behind the WAC-MWC juggling? Does ESPN even care? They must really want the HD truck.

Wow--UNR guy just stated that the exit fee would not have existed if BYU were not joining the WAC.

In other words, BYU didn't want UNR or Fresno to leave, and BYU was really planning on going ot the WAC.

Listening to Vegas radio on the way home, the local UNLV fans are pretty vitrolic towards BYU. Significantly more so than normal, and that includes the radio hosts. They all cannot believe BYU would go behind the rest of the MWC's backs and consider independence. I was pretty ambivalent about the idea until I heard the local radio, but i'm all for anything that has UNLV fans this up in arms.

That leaves only 6 teams in the wac. Byu will be forced to go to the wcc for bball and other smaller sports

                              Nevada accepts invitation as well.

In what should come as absolutely no surprise to anyone, the second of two schools offered official invitations to the Mountain West Conference has responded in the affirmative.

So what now for BYU? And what is Patterson talking about?

Announcing indy would not take away from any future big 12 invites, so I doubt we will know anything in 2 weeks that would make an indy move bad.

We cant go to the WAC now, and we certainly do the WCC, so hopefully the MWC will let us create our own TV contracts like Texas.
