They aren't the only ones grasping at straws. Watching you work the last day or two in these threads I can't figure out who you are trying to convince that Independence isn't an awful option all of us, or yourself.

I was just thinking as i was going through my dream scenario that I bet espn is talking to some of these schools. This wouldn't surprise me at all.
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

ND every year would be nice... From the South Bend Tribune:

The BYU move could indirectly benefit Notre Dame, giving the Irish a potential upper-tier football opponent that has scheduling flexibility in November.

Can anyone tell me what happens to a sport that nobody gives a damn about like Men's swimming? As far as I can tell neither the WAC nor the WCC have men's swimming. I can't imagine BYU would drop the program, so what kind of options would they have?

The MTN is losing money with the paltry pay-outs they now have, and that's with BYU and Utah still on board. Wait to see what TV negotiations are like when you replace BYU & Utah with Fresno and Nevada. The MWC will be taking pork bellies, chickens and lightly used Amway products as in-kind payment for televising games.

I don't care how good Fresno and Nevada might be at football. When it comes to TV, there's no there there. Who's going to produce those games?

At least the WAC has the remnants of a contract with ESPN. Pul BSU back into the fold, attract some decent teams for bball, and TCU for football, and the WAC has the building blocks of SOME kind of TV contract.

The MWC gets to start all over with negotiations between Commissioner Thompson and Comcast. That's going to go well..

I feel sorry for TCU & Air Force. They deserve better...

Swim meets would consist of BYU swimmers swimming against their personal best times, in hopes of getting stuff signed off for their Duty to God awards...

Hmmm, losing money WITH the twin cash cows Utah and BYU. Interesting.

I don't care if they're interested in BYU. At this point I'd be happy with BYU-curious...

My kid has dreamed of swimming for the Y since he was 10. He's swimming very well and may just have a shot. Really sucks to think that the program may be in the crapper by then if it exists at all.
