Good question. What are you? Have you come out officially as a born-again Ute? Or are you jaded with both programs? Maybe you just want to relax for a few seasons without the emotional investment in choosing a side.Originally posted by Hot Lunch View PostI know what you are but what am I?

Hot Lunch is returning to full activity as a Ute. Be careful, YO, he is still a tender sapling and needs time to become strong again. You don't want to be responsible for leading yet another soul astray.Originally posted by YOhio View PostGood question. What are you? Have you come out officially as a born-again Ute? I was unaware that anyone needed a reason to hate BYU.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostAt least BYU has a reason to dislike Boise as they tore our hearts out in 04 and destroyed us in 03. Driving through Boise and listening to the radio it seems that BSU fans seem to hate BYU, though I am unclear as to the reason.

Boise is curiously anti-Mormon. I used to live there as a kid and it was the only place I felt discriminated/picked on for being LDS. My sister just moved there for her new job and expressed some initial excitement to watch BSU and cheer for them.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostAt least BYU has a reason to dislike Boise as they tore our hearts out in 04 and destroyed us in 03. I asked her what the hell she was thinking and told her of BSU's rotten core and how she could never be one of them. She has since confirmed this sentiment among her co-workers and now can't wait for BYU to kick the living f*ck out of those assholes.
Me neither."I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! I'll make his whole brand go under,"

How's that Nebraska Oklahoma rivalry going for you?Originally posted by Babs View PostAnd Utes, seriously, give it up. Colorado is not a rival. BYU is your rival and always will be. The left-behind element has only added another chapter to the storied rivalry, and an additional motivating factor for both teams.

WRONG! They are so rivals. And Wyoming and Texas are HUGE rivals too. We've got clever anti-Texas t-shirts and everything. You are right. We will try to build one, however. It will never be like the BYU rivalry. Then again, Utah State used to be a big rival. See, exactly. Nebraska and Oklahoma have and always will have a history and a rivalry.Originally posted by beefytee View PostHow's that Nebraska Oklahoma rivalry going for you?
Now, when the Big 12 split Nebraska and Oklahoma so that they weren't playing every year, the commentators and what have you declared that Nebraska needed a replacement rival. They sort of arbitrarily selected Colorado. They insisted that the schools had a long history and a shared border and so forth, but you simply can't generate emotional investment. Fifteen years later, that 'rivalry' still hasn't caught on.
It's like your daughter. Sure, it would be convenient if she would go out with the nice young gentleman next door, but the more you try to convince her of how sensible the pairing is, the less likely there is to be any chemistry there.
Rivalry, like romance, doesn't really lend itself to predetermination.
