That sounds like a woman's response. A man knows he can't convince his daughter of anything, so we focus on scaring away the boy. They put a high value on their genitalia and the constant threat of losing said genitalia tends to make them more receptive of the advice from a girl's father."Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

This may become a rivalry after all. Utah should be used to having a football National Championship waved in its face.
Utah football > Colorado footballGive 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Colorado is not a rival. BYU is your rival and always will be. We will try to build one, however. It will never be like the BYU rivalry. Then again, Utah State used to be a big rival. Times do change.
Even though they haven't played one another for nearly a half-century. Utah remains Colorado's second-most common non-Big Eight opponent and Colorado is still Utah's most-common non-WAC/MWC opponent. The two schools played all-but four years (1909, '18, '59 and '60) from 1903 to 1962.
Both teams were members of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference from 1910-37 and Mountain States Conference from 1938 until Colorado's departure for the Big Eight after the 1947 season, and regularly competed for the conference title, with Colorado having won 13 (11 outright) and Utah 15 (12 outright) while members of the same conference. During that 38-year span, Utah led the series, 19-17-2.
Colorado dominated the series in the 1950's against a Utah program still rebuilding from the departure of 25-year coach Ike Armstrong in 1949, winning eight straight from 1950-58. Utah won the final two meetings in 1961 and '62, the '61 upset notorious for coming against what is still regarded as one of Colorado's best ever squads.
It's a storied rivalry that was long-overdue for renewal.

Zing.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostTypical Ute fix. BYU grads favor the use of "an" when using the indefinite article prior to a word that begins with a vowel. Perhaps a graduate course at the U covers this.
(It is a "zing" without an exclamation point. You'll need to do better to get one of those.)

wow? Is that right? The second-most-common non-big-eight opponent? Hard to believe I overlooked that!
I officially rescind my objection. Let the rivalry revelry begin.
