I think it would be great if BYU got an invite to the Big 12 on the condition that the home games must be played in Emery County.

To smart people this outcome has been predictable all along. So ask yourselves why there has been so little talk about BYU to the Big 12? (I'm not counting these insular boards. I consider most every bit of inside information a lie or spin, considering the norm.) Last year we knew Utah was on Larry Scott's white board, and almost immediately after Pac 16 fell through Utah was announced as an invitee. Smart people also saw this as predictable.
I think BYU to the B12 is still an open question.
When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.
Last aggy top 5 finish: 1956
Last BYU top 5 finish: 1996
Advantage: Mormons

So...getting waaaaaay ahead of myself for a moment...looks like BYU basketball may join the Big 12 just in time for Jabari's freshman season. Just sayin'. No back to reality: I really hope this works out.
Did I read his statement correctly? Did he, in essence, say "we didn't really apply for the PAC, I just called them to let them know that the B12 was working together to improve."
Yeah, that's the way I read it too.
I think it went down more like this:
Boren: Hey, so, like, we're totally nice and kick ass and stuff, even if we are kinda stupid; can we come be part of your nice conference club thing? Our club is dumb and has a bully. Oh, and can my dumb little brother come too?
Scott: Well, we kind of filled our need last year, thanks, but I'll ask.
<several hours later>
Scott: Yeah, so, the rest of the gang thinks you are dumb, so no.
Boren: Yeah, well, we didn't want to come into your stupid club anyway, so we won't file that application we had ready. Our club is cooler than yours anyway, or will be as soon as we punch out the bully.

Also, back to Boren, if you graduate in the Top 1% of your class at Yale, are elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and are a Rhodes scholar, why in the hell would you get your law degree at the University of Oklahoma? I realize this was 1968, but really?

RT @Dave_Matter: Heard this from Big 12 school official: If Big 12 can survive, league needs to get Texas to change mind on letting in TCU.
